Suggestion - Report to moderator

Is it possible to link the report to moderator button to a mod-only subforum where we can write decent posts to report someone. I find it hard to write or link every spampost a user has written in that 1x1 box, and therefore i can't link all the post that user has spammed the forum with. Yes we can place it in the meta section and link it there, but with so many posts everyday i think this suggestion would make it easier for the mods to get rid of every report 1 by 1.

Are other people experiencing the same thing?

You're basically asking for a bigger report text box. Good suggestion.

Yes, I also feel incovenient when I want to write longer info for report. Not sure why the box had to be that small (is it default from SMF?). I guess it was initially meant to put only a small description, like "Spam", or "Off topic". Having bigger box won't affect anything else, right? Should be easily modified by theymos.

As an alternative for now, you can write it somewhere else first before paste it to the actual report box. Inconvenient, I know

That box is meant to report just one post, although I sometimes say "please check his post history".

If you write long stories in the report-box, it will be more work for Mods. If you have many different posts from one user to report, you can report them one by one. Just a short description is enough.

Yeah it would be pretty handy if you could write some more information in that text box, especially for reporting individual posts.
I usually don't report too many posts just because it's difficult to explain the reason in such a small text box.

Example from just a few days ago:

OP is looking for trading software to be able to trade manually on several exchanges, states that he isn't looking for a trading bot.
Several people start suggesting trading bots to him, even right under a post from OP stating again that he isn't looking for a trading bot.

It just annoys me that some people don't even read a single thing in the OP, they just reply to the title.

The people who do this are usually just members, but they're enrolled in some ICO's signature campaign.

Btw, it seems like a lot of work for the mods to view these kinds of posts in the full context. It might just take too much time for them to read every thread and then interpret the post of the reported users

I have made a quick TamperMonkey script that replaces the input box with a larger, expandable box. Hopefully this should make it easier for more detailed reports to be made.

Thanks, but if you use that addon and report in the big box, admins should also use that addon to view it, else they still will have the 1 by 1 box right?

I'd expect that moderators and administrators have a much nicer interface for reading reports than users do for making them. This shouldn't be an issue.
