Haven't thought there were bitcoin ATMs in Taiwan  Shocked

That's quite good news for taiwanese bitcoin users but there are still many countries where bitcoin is considered as illegal and government is treating crypto users as criminals.  Angry Angry

No surprise there. Taiwan is friendly to bitcoin as opposed to their brothers in Mainland who suddenly turn their back on bitcoin. Japan, South Korea and Taiwan and the top 3 nations in terms of bitcoin usage and trading volumes so I didn't find this news surprising to find bitcoin ATM there. And i agree, if will just a matter of time before bitcoin really took off and capture the world. I'm not really sure if we can used the ATM to buy bitcoin though, but here we have options to buy bitcoin at any 7-11 kiosk.  Grin

Well this are good news. As per your information in Kosovo which is a small country in Europe there were 3 Bitcoin ATMs, and they wanted to expand it to 5. I guess that the future will be with btc atm everywhere.  Cool

Hi folks,
Stumbled totally randomly today on this in Tainan City (south-west of Taiwan):

Found out later that this is the only ATM in Tainan, what a lucky find!
And there are for now a total of 5 in Taiwan.

Anyway, made my day and thought I should share here  Cool

It is been a very good development to see some Bitcoin ATM in some countries. Having an ATM machine that can withdraw local fiat easily is such a good development for all of us who uses bitcoin.

They don't use card of any kind. They just take cash for bitcoins like all lammasu atm
https://coinatmradar.com/bitcoin_atm/2599/bitcoin-atm-lamassu-tainan-city-btctw-tainan-shop/
Direction: Fiat → Crypto
Fees: Buy: 5% from BitPay

But I must agree with you, I would not use such a shady box that dares to call itself an ATM in my life.
Common people, I've seen Pepsi vending machines in Morocco that where looking 1000 times better.
What the hell is with that wiring an and plastic panels?

Can users also buy bitcoins from those ATM?

It's bitcoins for cash only.

Thanks for sharing and finding that bitcoin ATM in Taiwan. It is a piece of good news for a future tourist who have an interest in bitcoin. I hope that bitcoin ATM has an English language selection or translation in its screen. A hesitant user will not use the ATM if they cannot understand what is being shown on the window screen.

The trend is real for the possible future of money, Even in my local country Philippines there are a total of 4 bitcoin ATM's right now that is operating for the transaction of buying and selling bitcoins, the locations if i remember correctly are Makati, Quezon City and 2 machines in Taguig City making it 4 total btc ATM machine, my local is a bitcoin friendly country that is recognized by the Philippine Central Bank no wonder why it is growing because when i first learn btc there is just only 1 btc atm machine.

Well this is a good news that Asian countries are continuing to adapt to this currency and I'm expecting that this will happen to the neighboring nations as well as the whole Asia except China of course because we know what's happening there.

Wow! Indeed a great news for bitcoin users in Taiwan, it is a great step of getting ahead with the current trend. Im sure it will attract more tourists, to consider visiting the place. I also wanted to experience using btc for payment of my goods, here in my country it's not yet existing. So how does it work? Meaning it have direct conversion from btc to Taiwan's currency? Or $?
