If you had 40MH to mine alt coins... How would you mine them?
- Solo mining - Your own pool - Pool PPS - Pool PPLS
Or any other option...?

This. I would then put some on Litecoin and the rest on Bitcoin. The rest can and will burn in a special place in hell.

I'd mine solo on any scrypt coins, and probably mmpool for BTC/NMC/IXC/DVC if I didn't feel like constantly trying to maximize profit.

If you could mine at 40GH/sec for scrypt doesn't that translate to 40TH/sec for bitcoin? I'd do bitcion at that rate.

depends on the size of the network you are trying to mine and what you are mining for, speculation, investment, cash flow? but with 40MHs you would be good to solo mine.

I would just ship it off to litecoinpool - Is that PPS? Mining noob here getting 50 40 kH/s.

This is reasonable on Litecoin. If you're arriving with 300 - 400% the network hash rate, it's not a problem and you don't need to share.

why would you do that... say he has 40G or M.hash of power from GPU's. if profitability of LTC is 30% more then BTC. he could get 30% - exchange commission from mining LTC over BTC. if you have a GPU, you have absolutely no reason to be mining BTC.

As a GPU miner with about 4.5 MH of scrypt, sha-256 coins sure are easier on my farm. Downclock RAM to nothing, much lower power, never have a GPU hang, but I mine scrypt coins because of the profit. My PSUs can take it and I have free electricity in an air conditioned server room.
