setup cold wallet (vps with linux + local wallet) is much safer. MN runs on linux and you keep your coins on your PC in wallet.

money are stored in local wallet on your PC. you can keep it open ( you have current status of MN) or you can close local wallet. in second case you need to sync local wallet to get current status of MN. you can also watch MN status via this page https://masternodes.online. personally I keep open local wallets but I have mining rig which is still running anyway  |
