It can the target is not soon far as well but it might quickly get dumped after achieving such a target. I feel this increase is nothing but a reaction to the increase in price of eth breaking the $300 line nearly after more than 3 months.
My speculation if eth reaches $400 etc is going to go as high as $30. This might not be a good accumulation zone for etc but stop loss always helps

ETC has not been able to show the market they can be independent of Ethereum and develop a sound platform, the issue with it now is that there are alot of competing platform now to both Ethereums but looking at the current valuation I think it is very low because I believe it worth at least one tenth of Ethereum, which is $32

Yes ethereum classic will hit $21 but it might be tomorrow, 6 months later or now. We can't say anything certain before bitcoin's price is stable.

There is a lot of competition in the Ethereum space, and then competition from rival platforms.  Why should ETC rise, and if it does will it do any better than ETH?

probably very soon, even though it is not a coin with a lot of different technical features, indeed it is very solid coin which people can invest in it except bitcoin.

it is always hard to say about altcoins at times like this.
ethereum classic s tarted to rise a couple of days ago an was on a good path but it has slowed down. in fact the rise was a slow thing in general in my opinion.
and as bitcoin broke the $8000 resistance and set a new All Time High of $8100 the altcoin rises were all put on hold apparently!

if this period passes and ETC doesn't lose much of its value, i say it is time for it to see a nice pump real soon.

Nah probably won't happen. I'm surprised they went back to 17 (actually impressed). Since the independent study concluded that ETC will be a better investment than ETH, everyone went ahead and bought it, after it dipped and now it's again up. I owned some ETC but sold my stack a while ago, would have made a better profit if I kept it, but I honestly can't see the reason why I should hold on ETC. I mean it's just a fork from ETH and they are lacking a lot of differentiation features to even be considered a competitors. They are more or less the same thing as ETH, and they still haven't delivered any promising project based on their platform. The adoption rate is pretty much to 0 percent, which makes me wonder how the current price is justifiable.

Yup! it is on the $18 value now who knows that is a near place to land on and it can sure pumps a little and then we can really see the $21 mark or more or it can sure drop too, I really think this is a good investment to put your money on and mine for it because of the small price you can sure ROI, or trade for this kind of Altcoin prior to Ethereum right now this is a good choice to make a risk.

ETC is at $17.83 now in coinmarketcap.com. Its not too long to reach $21. Its gradually increasing. Now it is at  1.89% higher than yesterday. I am sure it would reach $21 in 2 to 3 days as it had on September 1 and November 14. I could observe many altcoins have gradual growth.

You're saying the wrong thing, I think. ETC has been a favourite coin of the traders since March 2017. And it has a significant value on the market with a total market cap of $1,800,000,000 amazingly.

It's not hard to hit $3 Billion next year.

the long wait has finally made you richer. its currently $18 but you'll get there.

altcoins i guess have their own phase and they  get to rise eventually, it feels like i'm left behind upon selling the rest of mine in exchange for some cheaper tokens. ETC price is growing even when there are just few tokens using their network.

Maybe it will even drop to $2.1, who knows? I wonder who were these core original chain guys who decided to stick to Ethereum Classic? Can't say I've ever run into one of them my entire time on this forum. But the numbers are really strong, so it must have a significant community, and it surely must be growing. My only issue is not really too interested in getting a wallet that supports it, the ones I currently use don't.

And to think ETH itself was only $5 around this time last year, or was that even December?

It is close to its old highs near $21 so very likely to reach those in next couple of months
easily. After it breaks out above those, then can see some better action.
