Hello, I'm new user from Italy, I'm going to build my first rig, I'm looking for best efficiency and I was thinking to 1060 6gb, from what I can read here on the forum, if I'm unlucky and get cards with hynix memory I have wasted my moneys, what is today's situation on the market? which % of risk I have to get unlucky cards?
If I can phisically inspect them is it possible to look at the memory? googling it I can see that you can read the samsung logo on the memory

thanks everyone

Most places let you return GPUs for free within 30 days or however the return time is (at least in the US), and you can google what memory certain cards are using most of the time. It's pretty difficult to get burned that way. The brand name of memory can be found with software or physical inspection most of the time.

There is a thread on 1060s. All new 1060s sold these days, do not have Samsung memory. So I would advice you to buy the P106 mining cards directly from Aliexpress.

ASUS P106-100 has Samsung memory. This is your best bet.

You never can be sure which type of memory you will get.
With Zotac Cards chances of getting poor memory are high, according to the 1060 thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1575547.0

If you look for cards to mine ethash also consider AMD 570/580.

If you could find some GTX P106-100, just buy it. It's dedicated GPU for mining. Dont be scared, P106-100 with Hynix mem still has good hashrate: ~23Mh/s for Ethas and ~292sol/s for Equihash.

that still 10% less then same 1060 but with samsung memory
so this can be painful for newbie miners to know their new card is working not at full speed
but that is ok, do better trades and you will compensate a small loss of hashrate!
