I'd like to get a crypto that I can stake for a decent amount of interest and which fits these criterea:
Doesn't have to have the client open 24/7. I"m fine with leaving it running about 50% of the time.
purchasable on bittrex
I looked into buzzcoin but at 1200% the interest rate seemed perhaps too good for the coin to be sustainable, and I couldn't find it on bittrex. Thanks!

You might also look into coins that are using DPoS (Delegated Proof of Stake) where you don't need to have a wallet running by yourself, like for example Lisk or Ark.
Both are available on Bittrex.

In my opinion I would invest in a strong Altcoin that is worth as low as ETH, DASH, LTC, WAVES, DOGE OR XMR.
However, there are some icos that have been getting very high values every day.
Today if I were to invest I would invest in WAVES, which is low value and can go up at any time besides having a good boost to make small trades daily.

Thanks guys... but I do have a computer available half the day... I want to leverage it into some sort of staking while I'm asleep etc. I still don't have a clear sense of what you think is the best coin/token for doing that.

There is no need to spend your computing power or pay more electricity bill, if you will keep your computer running whole night either you will end up with broken computer or paying high electricity bill valued more than what you could earn from staking those coins. You might also look into coins that are using DPoS (Delegated Proof of Stake) where you don't need to have a wallet running by yourself, like for example Lisk or Ark.

Go with this suggestion.

Go with this suggestion. Does staking require more electricitiy? If yes, is it as bad as mining using GPU? Example will be Qtum - I'm put off buying Qtum as I do not want to consume more electritiy + I think the risk of being hacked is higher if I have to open the wallet all the time. Thanks.

No, compared to mining it doesn't need any notable GPU or CPU power.

So: I have a computer available half the day and a wish to run the client for a stakable coin, keeping their coins there and being an active part of their network... yet there is no constructive product out there that wants to take advantage of this level of priority I'm willing to provide it and make it worth my time/power? Sounds like a market opportunity.

This question is hard to answer if something quickly stack the difficulty becomes more complicated every year so that scacalossi norms may already belong to the past. But as far as I know the fastest coin is the RAIN, even with a small amount every day for 2 stacks came. Now its price is 300 sat at the peak was like 3000. Just like an ATOM OK maybe a 10% per year to give

If you are interested in the alts that can be purchased at Bittrex exactly, pay attention at Litecoin, which will be always a very stable crypto. It is very fast, reliable, and I think it is an underestimated altcoin.

Does the wallet need to be open 24/7 for these two coins? How much is a normal amount to stake to have a decent profit from them?

Why not just buy Bitcore (BTX) all you need is to have more than 10 in your wallet and you will receive 3% of your wallet holding weekly, this is a good design if you are interested in staking a coin

My suggestion will be ARK to you. ARK has a huge potential and in the future the price will rise very quickly. I suggest you buy it before you regret it and not to be late.

Ark is the only one who might be suitting to your necessities, but it is difficult to know that. There are not too many of those coins, and those who really exists, are not listed in bittrex because they are considered as weird coins, and it might be difficult to see it being listed in there. Minexcoin is giving dividends to the holders too, you should try to take a look over this altcoin too.
Have you read the post? He is asking about crytos who are "staking" not the ones who are going to increase. Today if I were to invest I would invest in WAVES, which is low value and can go up at any time besides having a good boost to make small trades daily.
