So I’ve just received an email which on the face of it looks to be from blockchain.info saying I now have an equivalent balance of bitcoin gold, upon further inspection the email it came from was test@azaliabooks.com so just a word of warning about this new opportunity for the phishing scammers. Just don’t visit an online wallet via a link in an email, even if you’re 100% sure it’s safe.

Always make sure that the url of the wallet you're going to login is correct.
As that can be mistaken easily, you also should check if the wallet provider has an extended validation SSL certificate, wallets like blockchain.info have these and can only be obtained by showing to a SSL certifcate provider that you run a legitimate business.

I never turn on the link in the email. Even if this letter is signed by someone I know. All my links are in a separate place and I don't even use search in the browser. I do only checked the links. There are so many similar sites with a similar name. You may not notice the difference. Be careful. Your carelessness can cost you cost.

People really have to be more aware of this, with the Bitcoin price this high everyone is going to try to be scamming for whatever scraps that they can possible get. I wouldn't be putting my private key for BTC into anything, wait until you can get your Bitcoin gold through YOUR OWN means. Don't give someone else control of your wallet so they can give you free money, that's just a blatant scam. No one is going to be that generous.

Bitcoin gold is shit anyway, make it BTC and ONLY BTC.

Thank you, your information is very useful. This is called taking the opportunity in narrow. I do not know why hackers always want to steal and steal other people's assets. They are smart, but they are also wrong with their deeds. So, we must avoid any form of scam pages or phishing sites.
