Investors like the progress of bitcoin. They are willing to invest in crypto world more than  any others in last few months. Professional surveys are made to find out the real thoughts about bitcoin. An interesting finding is 62% of the institutional investors are very much willing to invest in bitcoin. It can make more profit than risking money in business or banks . it also helps people to save energy. i think it is a good opportunity for aged people who have health issues and can't go out for works.

They are very much willing but won't invest in the near future... Or, they will invest in bitcoin related companies, because it's easier to handle... Even for the biggest institutional investors, the rules are really strict, they just can't invest all of their funds in risky instruments... Also, they need some legal background, and bitcoin is out of law at the moment in most of the countries.

That's indeed a great and encouraging number. If it becomes a reality, bitcoin's market cap would reach few trillion dollars and it will be accepted as a main stream currency. But it is easier said than done. A majority of the institutional investors are willing to investors because they have seen the growth of bitcoin has out run any other conventional investment avenue.

However, I am sure they wouldn't want to burn their hands into something whose legal status is still not clear. If government can provide a proper framework to the bitcoin users, it will be beneficial for both bitcoin community and the government. It will lower the risk of money laundering and illegal financing if everything is properly reported to the regulators.

I think institutional money s much closer to investing into ICO tokens and alts behind which re registered companies. However, they ll all try to snatch a few BTC off the table, just in case it hits 500k in the future. All in all, market cap growth is in front of us.

Around half of this 62% statistic were only "considering" buying Bitcoin, which doesn't mean a lot really.  It stands to reason that any intelligent person would at least consider it - it's just that a lot of institutional investors will consider it and decide not to buy.

This statistic also misleadingly implies that institutional investors necessarily think that BTC is a particularly good or relevant investment.  It could just be that they decided to take a gamble on something unusual and interesting.

Around half of the respondents who had bought Bitcoin had done so in the last six months.

ADn according to the reports that you read — they could invest in ICO (nearly 8% or respondents), if government will realised more regulation activity in ICO market. And the last think sounds good. There would be less bad and priceless projects that collect money for its founders.

Institutional investors are looking for more profitable markets and of course they are jealous of the crazy return cryptocurrencies are giving.

Investors are now getting more and more into the Crypto world. Yes, being an investor is something everyone can do. But investors should always pay attention to the market and the Crypto market risk, as well as confident about what is invested. Do not invest in an unclear place. Which can hurt you as an investor.

Here is a thought experiment. Imagine pension funds stepping into Bitcoin. What would be the consequence?

Its true that nowadays institutional investors are very much interested in investing in bitcoin. They have started to think that ICOs could be the best and easy way to raise the required funds for their new projects.Promising ICO projects could be expected more here after.Even most people of wall street have now started to show interest in investing in bitcoins and they think that they could no more stay away from bitcoin and lose enormous benefits only for the reason that they belong to wall street. Its really an interesting progress in the journey of bitcoin.

Institutional Investors right now has skeptical mind about buying bitcoin, but they considered it as a digital asset of the future. maybe they are studying what's in it and how much money the will earn

Yeah, I agree that many are considering it but having institutional money like pensions in bitcoin could be dangerous for the long term. The futures market is also scammy since there is so much fluctuation. However, if you hold BTC now it is good for us since it would raise the market cap. Yay!

Money from institutional buyers has already trickling in to Bitcoin though not yet in a massive way...maybe many are still waiting for more time and the right platform they can use to get into cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin. No one can deny of the possible profits they can get when getting into Bitcoin and that is why even if many are afraid of Bitcoin fund managers are looking at ways to participate. As long as there is good money to be made, institutional buyers will take a look at it and if is possible they can add it to their portfolio. Next year, we are expecting more and more of the hot money coming in to play with the Bitcoin market.

I’ve heard that in countries like Japan and South Korea, institutional investing is already happening on a large scale. I think that western countries are starting to see the potential in adding cryptocurrencies to their portfolios.

This can help stabilize the price of cryptocurrencies and increase demand worldwide.

Pieces like this just means Bitcoin has come a long way. There are still a lot of doubters for sure, but more and more people are starting to take it seriously. It was only really a matter of time until institutional buyers start dipping their toes in the crypto market. This becoming widespread will surely increase value and even stability with more holders around.

I also want to highlight this:

Quote
41% see bitcoin as a safe store of value similar to gold and just over 39% think bitcoin is a bubble that’s destined to crash. Not all traders are as pessimistic about the currency’s prospects however: 27% think it will continue to rise gradually, and another 17% are bona fide bulls, asserting that bitcoin will double in value in the next six months.

Majority of the traders interviewed thinks Bitcoin is legit. I honestly thought it would be around a 50-50 split. If this isn't a good sign of Bitcoin's long term future, I don't know what is.

Where does these figures came from? Any reference link? Kindly attach it to the OP.

Anyway, I agree that Bitcoin is a great investmemt especially to those who think of retiring. Actually it is much risky putting your money in Bitcoin than banks but in terms of business, I'm not sure what you're trying to talk about. In business, you mean stocks or starting a new business? Anyway, despite of risky Bitcoin, it is still reliable due to its great market support and the potential it has.

most people don't really reveal their investment plans publicly and not even in surveys. and this year changed everything about bitcoin, now people are seeing bitcoin more as a legit and good investment not that usual high risk one that they were afraid of and stayed away. of course this is a slow process of different people finding out about the changes and change their mind about it.
the changes i am talking about are mainly the adoption that has happened like countries that have legalized and adopted bitcoin such as Japan, and other good news like CME bitcoin market. and lots more. all of these change the public view towards bitcoin and removes the "negative view".

i say we are currently in the initial phase when "smart money" is being invested and slowly we are entering the second phase when "public finds out" and then they start getting enthusiastic and buy bitcoin.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Can you also post the link here? Where does 62% came from? What is your source.  Bitcoin is volatile which means it is risky for an investment if you cannot follow the flow of the money and the movement of it's price. Above from Investing on Bitcoin, I hope these Investors will also take time to learn and Bitcoin so they can use the technology for creating another coin and to continue supporting Cryptocurrency and me an excellent member of the community.

I think a lot of these institutional investors would have to diversify a little bit into bitcoin for two reasons:

1. Clients will look at bitcoins and ask them why they are not invested in it at all when the return has been so great
2. bitcoin market is, so far, highly uncorrelated with other markets. Hence adding bitcoin will potentially improve risk / return a lot.
