The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Poloniex already released statements on bitcoin gold previously. You can read the full announcement here:

Generally, they are saying, NO, they will not support it until the bitcoin gold devs fix their coin.

seems like if Bittrex has it, they fixed it. We will keep watching for any developments with them.
