Hello Guys,
I new in bitcoin, also in mining. I want to start dash or monero mining, i have a laptop gtx960m and i7 - 6700k. I think it's no way to earn coins with that hardware.
Any hardware, pool recommendations .
My budget for hardware 1000$.
I have free electricity.

You are in a very good spot with that budget and free elec. Check out some youtube vids on setup and how to's. First get a BTC motherboard with 6 or more pcie slots (12 ideal). Then buy GTX1070s and Platinum or Gold rated PSUs with enough PCIe connectors. Ideally you would want your PSU to run between 50-70% thus you'll need 2 if one doesn't have the wattage. Also get pcie risers for the amount of GPUs you are planning (always get 1 extra), 4GB RAM, cheapest CPU, 128GB SSD, cheap mouse & KB, something to build the rig into (be it a frame or something else).

How's he going to afford 6 GTX1070's on a 1000USD budget? Aren't they around $400 each?

Editing my comment about the pcie risers. I guess you kinda have to use them ... Because of heat and space?

that is the my problem ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) But you start small and work your way up from there. You can even try 2x 1060 6GB. I would advise buying as much equipment as you can second hand. Just make sure they have warranties left

I just built my rig and I like the RX 580 but it's out of your current budget. What are you trying to mine?

He can't really buy that many as he needs to buy a whole system. That's why I suggested he must look for second-hand parts with warranty. He could get 2x 1060s and the rest of the equipment he needs.

Well if he could get a steal deal on the second-hand hardware that he will buy he could get 3 gtx1060s. However he still need to buy a good PSU. I suggest for him to get at least a Corsair RM650x or RM750x for around $90 to $100. He could also get a bronze 80+ psu at around $70 at newegg or amazon right now.

i dont recommend to buy presale products , especially greedy scammers companies like Bitmain. They are showing that they sell products in batches but no matter they changed their strategy they sell lots of them , so miner will be heater before you receive it. Here you will see some shitmain's dogs are barking to protect that company and telling some stories about how they perfectly calculated /predicted and most funny that they made all these calculations now , when every thing clear they make predictions ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ) So there is no way to calculate before 1st batch received by people, so their calculation stories just another scam. buy some good graphic cards from gamers for cheap, rx470 is a good candidate if you can buy it cheap.

I didn't understand - if you don't have enough money for high quality equipment why don't you think about cloud mining services?

I would stay away from cloudmining. Start with 1-2 cards and buy more later. I´d recommend AMD if you want to mine Monero.

Mining monero go with AMD Vega 56. Nothing in the market could beat hash/watt on vega 56. You could get juat a bit south of $500 if you're lucky.

You must have bought D3's.

I think the best to know about hardware is to research in the internet a lot of information and idea you can get about it.,best idea being here in the Bitcoin forum because a lot of here are used into mining.

In order to begin mining on a GPU budget of $ 1,000 is very small. VEGA GPU will cost 500+ dollars. The rest of the money will be used to purchase the motherboard, CPU and power supply. The profitability of production of one of the GPU VEGA about 3 dollars a day. This means that you will have 1 year to return their money provided that you have free electricity.

This is just my opinion,
gpu - 5 gtx 1050ti 4gb @ 150$ each = 750$ cpu - cheap celeron 1151 @ 45$ mobo - asrock h11 pro btc 13 socket @140$ ( for future expansion) psu - seasonic 750w gold modular @ 90$ casing - build your own
All in all its 1025$ build excluding risers, monitors and other peripherals
Expected daily profit of 5$ mining zencash (computation from whattomine.com)
ROI is about 8 to 9 months
Hope this may help.
