Author Topic: is it normal for pm's to come back looking like they were sent from yourself?  (Read 193 times)

So i've pm'd a senior member a few times and everytime he responds with my quoted text, the name on the reply is mine.  So it looks like i pm'd myself.  Ive qsked him to post a reply in one of my other topics rather than sending a pm, but so far he has not.

Just curious how or why this happens.

You are confusing the "Sent to" field and quotes. Example: :



Example of a quote:

You can:
a) Quote the words of the person that sent you a message when responding (press the Quote button rather than Reply).
b) Quote anyone from anywhere and send that quote within a PM (they have no authenticity verification and can be spoofed).
c) Send a PM to yourself and other parties are the same time.
