Hello.
I tested 2 small rigs on minexmr.com
Started both at same time, on the same pool, on the same internet line, but on different xmr wallets. Used same miner (claymore cryptonote 10.2)
First rig (rx 470 + rx 480 + rx 470) 2360h/s earned 0.04xmr for 24hours
Second rig (rx 580 x3) 2560h/s earned 0.035xmr for 24hours
Anybody could explain me how 2560h/s rig earned more than 14% less than 2360h/s Rig?
I was trying to understand it and checked workers graphs (check attachments). There is sometimes hashrate droped to 0 on second rig. I checked miners logs and there were no any diconnects. Just claymore mined dev fee at same time. Just a few seconds, but the graph looks like my rig didnt work for 10-15min every time. First rig worked with dev fee on too but there is no any drops to zero on the graph.
So i'll be happy if someone can explain me what's wrong with my second rig and how can i fix it to mine as good as first rig does.
I'm sorry for my english.

How detailed are your logs? Do you only see events like "dev fee mining", "disconnected" etc? Cause ideally you need to run with a more detailed log and actually see what's going on during those 10-15 minutes.. are there any shares sent/accepted during that time?

how can i upload log files?
There is no any disconnets in the log. Devfee took only 1min every 1 hour.

2560h/s rig found a share every 6 minutes (diff 1000000 aprox)
2360h/s rig found a share every 5 minutes (diff 900000 aprox)
So 2360h/s found about 15% more shares than 2560h/s rig did.

Yes, I understand that there were no disconnects during that time. The question is what was happening and not what wasn't. Smiley When you look at the miner's window you see a lot of stuff happening: shares being accepted, new work received / blocks announced, your hashrate reported etc. If you have your log settings (in xmr-stak it's called verbose_level, not sure how claymore calls it) set to the highest level of detail, all this information should be logged, just like the miner outputs it in the main window. I don't know what kind of verbosity you've set since you didn't mention it, and I didn't see your logs either. If you want to find out what happened within those periods of time when you see the dips to 0 on the graphs — you need to "find" them in the logs and see what was going on. Maybe your rig was switching to the dev pool, and then for some reason can't reconnect to the main pool quick enough.. I don't know, the answer should be in the logs. If they're not detailed enough then adjust log settings and repeat the experiment.
2560h/s rig found a share every 6 minutes (diff 1000000 aprox)
2360h/s rig found a share every 5 minutes (diff 900000 aprox)
So 2360h/s found about 15% more shares than 2560h/s rig did.
Which were 10% "smaller" shares. Nothing unusual here.

okay. I checked. There were no any found shares for 35minutes after devfee. That's time was displayed like 0h/s on the graph, but my rig worked and was getting the job just couldnt find any shares because too high difficulty.
from 12:10 to 12:45  "Job changed, drop current round" only
then only at 12:46 found share and my hashrate recovered...

Try to change miner, or pool, or both. I've had a similar problem mining XMR on dwarf with xmr-stak on cpu, was getting a lot less than I was supposed to, and figured it was also related to dev fee pool mining, cause after the switch back from the dev pool there was a dip to 0, just like you have. No idea why this is happening with some rigs/pools/miners, some bug with difficulty adjustment I guess, but I just changed both the miner and the pool that time and the profits returned to normal.

So looks like the pool does not count the hash received after the devfee untill the nearest share found.
Wacko, which miner for AMD GPU can you recommend and which pool?

So looks like the pool does not count the hash received after the devfee untill the nearest share found.
Pools don't care about your hashrates, they want actual shares received. The hashrate they show on their side is calculated based on the shares you submit. If you don't submit anything, they'll show 0.

Wacko, which miner for AMD GPU can you recommend and which pool?
I've switched from XMR to ETN as soon as ETN showed up and it's been more profitable than XMR all this time (for like a week or two now). And before that it was ETH. So I haven't mined XMR for quite a while and can't really recommend any pool. If you want XMR, just mine ETN and then buy XMR with them — you'll get more this way.

I mined ETN too. But all pools which i tried gave 10-15% less than WTM claimed. Also ETN price drops 10% every day. So every day i earned 12% less because pool and 10% less because price drop. 22% total. So i decided - ETN is not so profitable as WTM dispays. XMR is more stable.
Thank you very much anyway. You helped me a lot and you forced me to understand my problem deeper Smiley

i think i know how to fix it.
Just need to set static dif Smiley
minexmr.com is the first pool where i should do that
I'll report tomorrow about results. If it doesnt help then i'll be forced to disable devfee.

Actually yeah, I just remembered, I did have to set static diff for minexmr! Just checked my bat files and the cpu one has "+20000" appended to the worker name, while the gpu ones have "+100000". Not even sure now why I had to add these back then, but it might help you as well.

It helped to make the graph normal. Just look at the graph how it changed Smiley
https://gyazo.com/603e7e8a4db2e2f52d2989c306dc2240
But actually it didnt help - i still earning 15% less than WTM displays.
There is an other problem now. The graph displays 2.1-2.2k hashrate instead 2.56k.
It displays more real hashrate before i set static diff. So i dont understand anything now.

I guess best way to fix it, or at least try to fix it, just change the  pool and see how it goes, will be there any difference
I think some poll just steals shares. suprnova for example

What kind of diff did you set? I set +100000 for my GPU miners, but they are 8*rx480 each, so about 6+ KH/s. You probably need lower diff for your 2.5 KH/s miners, try 30-40k. With 100k you just might not find enough shares of that difficulty and thus your reported by the pool hashrate is lower than your cards are actually capable of.
