I dont have good luck in trading now, so i decided to just keep my bitcoin in a wallet and let the value grow it self. I believe it will grow more.

But may I know is there a way to generate a secure bitcoin wallet aside from Bitcoin core?

I dont trust jaxx, electrum as there are some horror stories from it.

You'd need to download the wallet for desktops. Hardware wallets and paper wallets won't give you that safe feeling.

if you don't like using a software (download anything) and trusting computers, then go completely offline and do everything physical instead!

a private key is a number and a number can be generated without a computer and with physical randomness. for example you can use a physical dice to generate that number. there are 16-sided dices which you can buy and make a hexadecimal number with them or you can use normal 6 sided ones but it will be more complicated.

I believe you have it the other way around. Paper wallets and hardware wallets WILL give you that safer feeling when compared to storing them in a desktop wallet. Especially in a computer that is online everyday and has a cracked copy of Windows installed. Much worse if you share the computer with other people.

Blockchain I think is very safe. Simply activate 2FA, then your Bitcoin will be safe from various crimes. So, Blockchain.info is the best choice. You can also save ETH there. And it's free.

- Electrum is considerably secure than other web wallets, it is true that jaxx doesn't encrypt private key stored in your device so if your device is infected you might get hacked.

- Hardware wallet like trezor and ledger wallet is most secure wallet.

- Cheap solution for you is to print out paper wallet from bitaddress.org github file with offline computer and offline printer.

Thanks for the advice and suggestions guys, I guess I'll go for Bitcoin paper wallet. Then soon will try to buy Trezor. Today I just downloaded a javascript file that allows me to generate a random and fresh Bitcoin wallet address. Thanks again.

C'mon guys, really? Don't try to persuade somebody to store their hard earned coins on an online wallet for long term storage... It's just not smart to do this. I can understand a new member making this mistake, but a full member should know better.

Hey dude, I can just actually send you a private message but I prefer to transact with you publicly. I am selling hardware wallets, these are multi-coin hardware which you can use to store your bitcoins for long term. I sell it for $134 but you must pay for the shipping. I assume you are from the Philippines, aren't you?

If your budget was a little tight, I can sell my pre-loved hardware wallet but it only supports bitcoins and bitcoin cash. You may upgrade it via Windows 7 to support 2x coin in the future. Asking price is $76 for it. If you live near my spot, I can actually hand it over to you personally. Don't worry about the security because as soon as I hand you over the actual hardware, I would not have access to it at all.

Again, I transacted with you publicly so that you know that I am legit. Cheers!

There are many ways to have a secure bitcoin address. One is having an offline wallet. This is one of the most secure address, because it is generally encrypted to your pc. No one can access your wallet besides you or if any person mess with your pc. So i suggest that you get an offline wallet which you can privately manage.

There is no need to buy an expensive hardware wallet like Trezor. You can download and use Bitkey, https://bitkey.io/.

It is a Linux distribution that you can boot using a USB or a CD/DVD. It has all the Bitcoin storage choices you need at a fraction of the cost.

With bitkey, only the cold mode is as secure as a hardware wallet, but it's not that convenient. It's been a while since i last read their complete site, but if i remember correctly, you have to create a transaction in the cold-online mode, then sign it in the cold-offline mode, then broadcast it in the cold-online mode.
It's quite a hassle to switch between modes.

But you're right, if you use the "cold"-modes, a bitkey usb is as safe as a hardware wallet, a hardware wallet is less than $100, bitkey less than $20 (for a high quality, small usb stick). A hardware wallet is more convenient tough Smiley

I am willing to forfeit convenience for superior security. I believe Bitkey can be better and more secure than a Trezor if used correctly.

If you are just starting in Bitcoin, learning all the secure wallet solutions is a must.

The best way to have the most secure bitcoin wallet is to use offline bitcoin wallet. Offline wallet such as "Ledger wallet" or "Trezor wallet" tend to provide the most secure bitcoin wallet public and private keys since they are completely off the grid.

You should use Paper Wallet or Hardware Wallet. Also, you can use https://bitkey.io/

And I appreciate as you wish to hold on to your BTC, good luck Smiley

Paper wallet is a safe way to go. Generate it, print a couple of copies (to store in different places) and never use your private key until you want to cash out. That should be pretty safe.

We cannot customize Bitcoin address by our own combination, that's why it's total secure when it comes to address generation because the identity is one over more than a trillion possibilities.
