I am selling a funded 1 btc brass casascius coin and was looking for advice as to a price.
Is an auction a better plan than an outright sale price?

It really depends on the coin. Has it been in a airtight the whole time, or handled etc etc... Post pics with username and date for example and you will get more replies/thoughts etc... and offers! Cheesy

I would also recommend accepting escrow through a reputable forum member once pictures have been posted.

This recent auction worked well and may give you some direction.

May need a little help being fairly new to this.  A recent acquaintance who is an older gentleman (72).
Bought several of these brass 1 btc casascius coins and is wanting us to buy them from him. We bought 2 several days ago and opened one to check if it was legit(when you spend this kind of money, it is worth a lot to know that all his coins are loaded.  (They are).

He put them in a sdb years back, and when the news started coming out of Bitcoin price he decided to sell.

My question is:  is it smart to have them graded?  Would this increase their value? They came in plastic sleeves and have been untouched for several years.

We haven't found out exactly how many he has, but he paid  $24.00.  I just imagine at that price, he may be sitting on a stack!

Thanks for info. As we are very new to casascius coins.

If they are mint grading makes sense. Sounds like they will be 2011 coins,  so more reason to do so

Totally agree here - if they have been sitting all clean and perfect they should grade quite well and will get you more btc/$ in the end! Cheesy
