Im planning to buy more 1070s and I’m reading thru lot of threads talking about GTX performance. I reckon all 1070 performs almost similar but I can see slight differences in hashing rates, power consumption and heat. So just wondering which make is comparatively better, which one has Samsung memory etc? Pls share your thoughts

ASUS EVGA MSI GIGABYTE ZITAC PALIT?

Any of you tried Chinese local brands with GTX 1070 chips ? 😂

As per the research studies among nicehashminer, GTX 1080 Ti took over GTX 1070.

I think all vendors are practically equal. I tried all of them except Zotac. So at the same power consumption all GPUs show the same hashrate. I like Palit JS, SJS, GR, GRP because of them perfect cooler. Asus and Giga also good but expensive. MSI has a lot overclocking potential but power consumption will grow fast. About memory types: now all my cards with Micron but all of them can reach +600-800 of memory OC with proper BIOS. I had one card with Samsung memory - it was EVGA SC, but it didn't work properly (I think manufacturing defect) so I returned back it to the store.

All come with Micron now. Palit (super)jetstream and gamerock are the best air-cooled 1070s out there. They're using the same PCBs as their gtx 1080s and the same coolers. Everything is cooled by the main radiator, it touches all the memory chips and vrm. The cards are cool and almost silent. Higher end versions (super jetstream and gamerock premium) are supposed to be binned, so should overclock/undervolt better.

Although I would buy 1070 Ti instead of regular 1070s now. Same GDDR5 memory so still good for ETH and Neoscrypt, but more cuda cores.

While I dont have experience with many different brands of cards. I picked up 3x MSI Gaming X 1070s and they have been working out great for me.  While keep in mind they require both a 8 pin and a 6 pin to run so that might be a problem if you have limited connections available. I have been able to run them at about +200 core and +600 memory on Win10 with no issues at all, even with Micron memory.  They are all performing at the same level at my EVGA 1070Ti.

If you could spend more money for it, I suggest you take a look on GTX 1070 Ti. I just have 2 rigs of MSI 1070 Seahawk and EVGA GTX 1070 SC, both are good.

Gainword gs glh version, 30Mh/s with only 100W.

That's exactly the same card as Palit Jetstream/Gamerock, only red color instead of silver/blue. The same manufacturer, just different brands for different regions.

ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 1070 AMP Extreme is the best clocking wise card out there of all the 1070, but i'm not sure about the power draw.
Otherwise i'm perfectly happy with my EVGA's 1070 SC and EVGA's 1070 SC Black Editions and plan to buy more of them.

When it comes to fans I understand the best option is to go for the the 3 fans 1070 but what about the 2 fans, single fan and mini 1070s, are they still good for mining or do we need to consider proper rig cooling with these cards ?

Ive got evga 1070ti SC black editions. Dual fan and almost silent at 30% fan speed running a steady 58-60c each. 32.4mh on ETH at 65% power limit (approx 100w). Great cards.

all depends of the ambient temperature.

Single-fan 1070s are crap. They work, of course, but the cooling is no good. As for 2-fan vs 3-fan, it's not as simple: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2424138.msg24868988#msg24868988

you should buy from a site where they have a good return policy, you buy the cards, you test if it's Samsung, if not, send it back. That's how I got Samsung models for all my cards.

GTX 1070 is a good card (I have one in my desktop) but it's twice the price of a GTX 1060 for only 33% more hash rate. With my GTX 1070 I get 32MH/s for a card around 400€, my GTX 1060 reach 24MH/s for 200€ (even less if you're in the US) and less power (75W!)

13 GPU Nvidia Rig running under Ubuntu 16 (eth hash rate: 300+Mh/s @ 1000W for whole rig): 3x EVGA GTX 1060 3Gb (24MH/s @ 65W) + 6x MSI Armor GTX 1060 3Gb (24MH/s @ 70W) + 1x MSI GTX 1060 (24Mh/s @ 65W) + 3x Zotac GTX 1060 (24MH/s @ 65 W). PSU 2400W, Asrock ASRock H110 Pro BTC+, cheap Chinese risers, Kingston SSD 120Gb, 8Gb memory. Selling some of my GPUs (around 200€, still under warranty), if you're interested, contact me in private.

Nvidia 1070i is the cards being used by the people in my friend sets. They are running 3 or 4 rigs for each person place. If you have the 3 cards or 6 in the rig means you can manage with the two cards also.
Have PSU which can be compatible and make it cooler in mining process.
These two fans are enough to have in the wooden rig like wide opened.
