BTC is Bitcoin;
LTC is Litecoin.

They are different cryptocurrencies with their own characteristics.

Bitcoin is worth more, has a lower max supply (21 million) and 10 minutes blocks.
Litecoin is basically a copy of Bitcoin, but with a max supply of 84 million and 2.5 minutes blocks (which leads to faster confirmations).

They are 2 different crypto currencies, not related to each other.  TryNinja has a nice graph for you to look at.  Just something to keep in mind, that they are indeed separate from each other, much like how stocks work, 2 different stocks in this case will have different value and can go up/down based on what happens in the market.

BTC and LTC are cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is a worldwide cryptocurrency and digital payment system called the first decentralized digital currency, as the system works without a central repository or single administrator.

Litecoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and open source software project released under the MIT/X11 license. Creation and transfer of coins is based on an open source cryptographic protocol and is not managed by any central authority.

The thing you are talking about is trading pairs INN/BTC is INN trading with BTC  and INN/LTC is trading with LTC.
a little explanation on both :
Litecoin is a fork (clone) of Bitcoin which is currently faster and cheaper to use, apart from that there are that many differences between the two, they both have SegWit activated but Litecoin also has Lightning network support, something which Bitcoin does not currently have.

The Lightning Network allows instant transactions to take place which will be a game changer for the cryptocurrency.

The fundamental difference between ltc and btc I think it is a development problem, Bitcoin has been developing for so many years, but Litecoin has been stagnant. The same Litecoin leaflets do not match Bitcoin, so I'd recommend holding Bitcoins instead of Litecoin if you can.

Thank you Tryninja. I will follow your updates here. We can mine both of these categories?

Litecoin is very similar to Bitcoin because Charlie Lee the creator of LTC just copied the codes of Bitcoin and did some minor changes and tweaks. There are very few differences between them, like in mining, Litecoin can be mine using GPU that uses Scrypt as its cryptographic hashing algorithm while you can mine Bitcoin using ASIC that uses SHA256 algo. Bitcoin supply is capped at 21 million coins while Litecoin have 84 million. Litecoin has a faster transaction processing speed with 2.5 minutes vs Bitcoin's 10 minute blocks. It is just that Bitcoin is more popular and have huge community that suppports it.

Bitcoin is the first type of cryptocurrency launched by Satoshi Nakamoto, 2009. The code is open source, which means that, it can be use or modified freely by anyone. After the introduction of bitcoin in the public. Its performance and potential gives a conclusion that it can dominate in the world so many altcoin introduce few years after the bitcoin launched. In 2011 the Litecoin was released, the main difference of Litecoin to Bitcoin is; Litecoin is a silver version of Bitcoin while Bitcoin signifies gold. From its characteristics Bitcoin is more expensive and high value than Litecoin (gold is more expensive than silver); while litecoins have a greater amount of coins in public because of its low cost. In the year 2017 in cryptocrrency industry, litecoin is the biggest rival of bitcoin in electronic banking industry from its performance.

There aren't many differences between them, because litecoin has been developed using the code of Bitcoin, so they are basically the same only that litecoin has more than x4 of the total supply of bitcoin, more than 80 millions that are going to be mined in a few years, if i am not wrong.
I have been using litecoin for a while, and i can really say that it impressed me a lot because the transactions are going through very fast, i am trying to buy as many litecoin as i can before the price gets to $100 for each one of them.

The most important difference between LTC and BTC bitcoin is in the proof-of-work algorithm. BTC uses the SHA-256 hashing algorithm and its calculations benefit tremendously from parallel processing. Nowadays, these calculations are delivered by ASIC technology and they are increasing in the difficulty level.

Bitcoin is p2p digital coins and have value more than gold.
bitcoin is the top cryptocurrency all other altcoin and copy of it so it have value.
litecoin is cheap version of bitcoin with value near to silver.
the only difference between them is the price difference between them are block time and block reward

Litecoin has three major differences with Bitcoin.

The Litecoin network aims to handle a block every 2.5 minutes, instead of Bitcoin's 10 minutes, that developers claim to allow for faster transaction confirmation. Advantages may include the ability to resist double attacks over the same period with Bitcoin.
Litecoin uses the cryptographic algorithm in its proven algorithm, a complex sequential memory function that requires asymptotically more memory than an algorithm not a hard disk memory.
The Litecoin network will produce 84 million Litecoins, or four times the currency, Bitcoin Network.
