disturbing news:

Google AdSense has disabled our account! For the time being we'll be financing the lottery purely through mining profits! (the a-ads and coinurl ads don't really generate any significant revenue)

The exact reason for the AdSense Account-block is unknown to us, we had noticed a lot of repeated clicks from a russian visitor, which might have led to a block for "invalid click activity", but that's pure speculation atm!

We'll update you as soon as we know more!

follow-up

so, after a couple of days google has finally replied to our appeals... but the answer is pretty ridiculous... read it yourselves:

---
Hello,

Thank you for your appeal. We appreciate the additional information you've provided, as well as your continued interest in the AdSense program. However, after thoroughly re-reviewing your account data and taking your feedback into consideration, our specialists have confirmed that we're unable to reinstate your AdSense account.

Please know that, once we've reached a decision on your appeal, further appeals may not be considered, and you might not receive any further communication from us. Note that AdSense publishers whose accounts are disabled for violations of our Terms and Conditions are not eligible for further participation in AdSense. For this reason, you may not open new accounts.

Also, accounts disabled for invalid click activity will receive no further payment nor any reissue of previous payment. Your outstanding balance and Google's share of the revenue will both be fully refunded back to the affected advertisers. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

We understand that you may want more information about your account activity. However, because we have a need to protect our proprietary detection systems, we're unable to provide our publishers with any details about their account activity.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team
---

 Shocked

so, we really still have no idea WHY they chose to suspend us from using adsense on our site, and moreover, from using it EVER again, on any site... well... the oh-so-friendly google... not such a nice buddy after all...

And now:

Danger: Malware Ahead!
Google Chrome has blocked access to this page on bitcoin.lift-institute.com.
Content from coinurl.com, a known malware distributor, has been inserted into this web page. Visiting this page now is very likely to infect your computer with malware.
Malware is malicious software that causes things like identity theft, financial loss, and permanent file deletion.

Google Chrome has started blocking our lottery Site, apparently due to the COIN-URL Ad-Slot?!

One has to wonder, especially after the previous AdSense account shutdown, if this is a legit Malware warning or just the extension of an Anti-BTC campaign?!

Has anyone made similar experiences?

You're running an illegal lottery and wonder why Google Adsense doesn't like that?

You're running an illegal lottery and wonder why Google Adsense doesn't like that?

And why would that lottery be illegal?

Because in Germany any lottery activity is a monopol of the individual federal states. Running a lottery as a German is an invitation for Zoll to kick your door down and your nose in.

Ok, well, our knowledge about laws maybe limited...

BUT: § 3 Abs. 1 des Glücksspielstaatsvertrages says: "wenn im Rahmen eines Spiels für den Erwerb einer Gewinnchance ein Entgelt verlangt wird..."

As the LIFT lottery is totally free of charge... by our interpretation it is not even legally classified as a Lottery?!

Then why call it a lottery, it it's not a lottery?  Wink You're just opening up yourself to unwelcome scrutiny and the thing that happened with Adsense.

well... LIFT Lottery sounds nice Wink and it is a raffle after all... it's just free so it does not classify as "gambling"...

anyways, Google will not consider any further appeals, so that deal is off regardless of calling it a lottery or whatever... now with CoinURL not being an option to run some advertisements, we will soon have to purely fund it through our small mining profits...

oh well... we'll try to keep it running and we might just have to run a-ads only?!

Unpleasant Notification:

some might have noticed that we are experiencing some issues at the moment..

Several raffles have not been drawn in the past days. It appears this was due to bot-scripts trying to exploit our site. We are working on a safeguard for the attacks and will manually solve the missing raffles asap.

Meanwhile all payments are on hold and the previous raffles are under review.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but rest assured, the next payout is going to come in the next few days... and it will be a BIG one .

Best,
Frank @ Lift
