They said that would be removed after it's all said and done.  That's what I was told.

Did they say what % of VAT would be deducted? 20% would make a pretty big difference.

Nope, as the price doesn't say what part is VAT and what part is miner package

Not sure what other people are seeing as the EU price, but today I see $3166.67 EU (this does differ from the original 3346 that I had first seen).  They *say* thats because of my IP address, its determined that I'm already in the US so that price already had VAT taken off of it.  I went to the site logged in under a user account and without and it shows me the same price (which btw, is the $4100 US price).

I'd be really curious what those in the EU see as the price.  When I brought up the fact that I wasn't seeing VAT removed, they told me that it already had been.  If you know what the EU is seeing for pricing vs. the US price (above), you'll know what the VAT reduction is.  Typically it's 20%... (But not in all cases).

Too rich for me at that price... had 20% been taken off that and then promoted to USD, that would have been more reasonable, but it appears the US price (after VAT removal) is $4100.

So, what do people in the EU see for a price?

curious minds want to know...

And there you go... a little short of 20%, but close enough as it does vary.

Wow, I pity the folks in EU that have to buy one as a result... at least at exchange rates with the USD that would be both arms and legs.

We are getting charged 20% VAT (of total price including transport) for any non EU import. When I hear US people complaining that they are paying 50$ tax for one S9 I just  Undecided

They are not substracting VAT from the final amount for EU VAT registered company also. That should be substracted.

According to their TOS:

Quote
In the event of default, interest on arrears in the amount of 4% will be charged.

In the case of non-timely payment, a reminder fee of EUR 12.00 per reminder is due.

Won't take that risk before they fix their pricing or state clearly that VAT is deducted after hitting the final order button.

edit: Now it works. Had to drop country prefix from VAT code.

Our shop system uses GEO-IP to determine if vat applies. There is a double check on the checkout where VAT gets verified with shipping address...

Also we use EU-VIES service to check VAT Numbers. If you enter a wrong VAT code, VAT won't get subtracted.

you can power the miner without controller too, but obviously it will just go to idle and do nothing

usually it works like this, you can choose foreign country wire transfer in your online banking and already choose the right currency then.

Wow that's huge pool of choices! Why other manufacturers and resellers can't implement that?
Do you want to put a plug for your payment processor, which you are using? Or is it homebrew solution?
Why Bitmain or other guys are not following the suit? Smiley

Do you expect 821 price to become more competitive during Q1? Seems like pricing currently is not directly affected by bitcoin price, mining difficulty, competition. I guess 99% of customers do not consider buying because price is too high. Competitive price will lead to new batches being sold out within minutes, not weeks.

Yes, I would like to see that too. From their point of view it's still fine, they sell their product, maybe slower but still. But prices here are not competitive with other manufacturers, where you can pay them directly, without reseller, and have your product shipped from China.
