when miners (specifically the mining farms) mine some coin, they know how to sell it in a way that doesn't disturb the market much. and most of them sell off the market anyways.
but when things change, like doing a PoS which gives everyone free coins. and many get a lot of it just by having some stake, there will be a lot of dump on the market directly from lots of small to big orders and that can create some issue for the price to stay up. there may be a nice downward slope shaping up because of this.

In the transition to POs, I see the positive direction that the price will rise. Now we can see good bullish trend for etherium.
After the transition to POs all miners can go on ETC or on other projects is a 100% impact on price and it will subside But then that POS will earn coins as well should spur interest in second bitcoin world. I think the market will be volatilnym for air. But for experienced traders it is a joy

But PoS is like giving away coins really? I thought it would be more like receiving interests for having your coins in "deposit", granting the security of the network like with NEO or Waves |

I think market will instantly react to it. Miners will find it boring to hold and it will lose some value. Some people especially traders will manipulate it to obtain at cheap prices to pos and generate money.

I don't know but most people say it will rise, this will affect also price of ethereum classic for sure. Ethereum is one of the best coins anyway.

Exactly, miners have long been in this game and they know how to manipulate (or stay away from too much manipulation) to maintain the market for as long as possible for the simple reason of staying as profitable as they can. PoS will hold a lot of value for the whale miners, who surely are only releasing a bit of ETH with every mine, and this will actually let them still accumulatr while moving on to other coins. I don't know about those also mining SIA for example. I suppose they will always substitute. |

Ethereum classic is one of the altcoin. This is not that much popular in current market. I think few miners only move to Ethereum classic. It is raise in current market. But last month it was fall in market. So it is not a stable currency. Ethereum is the best centralized cryptocurrency. It is a long term investment. This is more profit for any other coin in future. |

I think we are already seeing the effects of Ether going POS. First of all everyone is trying to stack up currently, the simple reason is because in the future when POS will be implemented, everyone will be able to receive ETH is return for confirming transactions, so instead of mining, which is currently done by big players who have the entire power centralized in their hands, the average person will be able to confirm transactions just by locking up their ETH to a smart contract. That's pretty awesome and the implications of this is some sort of indirect divident paid to holders. It's like holding shares is a big bank, instead of them paying you quarterly some dividends, you'll be receiving some ETH which have just as much value.

After ethereum goes pos i expect the price going up quickly. Ethereum will become next dash with the proof of atake concept and i like it. It will decrease coin in circullation and it is as good as bank rate. I really hope the pos transition going smooth and no issued in security or whatever.

I think ETC will likely be the winner here, but they first need to make their platform attractive to developers, so as for them to be able to pick it for their project launch, it will be interesting to see if this is a good decision by Ethereum team |

After ETH becomes a POS coin some miners will become angry and they may dump their ETH for profit. So there might be some minor pull back in the market at that time but no need to worry as this would just be temporary. After POS is implemented the inflation will be low compared to today's inflation. This is actually a good news.

There will definitely be short term volatility. We will probably see what is going on with Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash. However, after an initial drop, I expect Ethereum to shoot through the roof. I really don't think ETC has the ability to overtake Ethereum.
Wasn't there some early talk of Ethereum creating a maximum supply of Ethereum? Man, imagine the prices then!
