I really hate to see this new FIBA system, where teams have to play without their best players from Euroleague and NBA. I prefer old championship system. Now it's bad for teams who have smaller selection of players and these teams risking to not qualify to the main competition. For example, look at Spain roster, it's full of no-names. But after 2 matchdays in Europe zone there is only one big surprise - Croatia lost both their matches and now their in complicated situation. But again, if we look at their squad - we can't find high class players and without them Croatia aren't powerful team.
Spain still got its revenge over Slovenia. You have a solid point on the no-NBA and Euroleague players available due to conflict in the ongoing seasons. As iss the case teams like USA and Spain can cushion the hit drawing some from amateur and developmental league but sucks for smaller nations like Croatia whose crop of good players are mostly contracted in the NBA and Euroleague.
However, it is refreshing to see the home and away matches and home crowds being able to support their teams court side.
