Although this thread was created in 2017 so it's been a long time so it's an old topic. Currently all of these Dogecoins have been at least inactive and have seen massive success since Elonmusk took over the project. Hence it is currently enjoying massive success and is apt to grow further.

Elon Musk has turned his attention to Doge, and it's had its moments of success. Whenever he talks about Doge, through his mouth or social media, it tends to soar. But it also crashes just as hard. Now that Elon Musk has spoken up again, it might be best to steer clear of anything associated with him.

Investors should enjoy while it last, Elon Musk has this great influence when it comes to crypto, talking about a particular coin can trigger investors to buy. Now the coin has gained value compared to the time op posted the thread, I saw similar thread about dogecoin yesterday and this coin seems to be popular as we've seen in the market, my question is will this value last or the coin will still fall, I'm curious to know what's next after the pump.

Elon Musk is the only reason why this coin gained value and I still remember those days when this coin was making more than 100% from on consecutive days but after certain point of time people realised that Elon Musk was just manipulating with this coin using his influence they stopped paying heed and the kind of pump which it received with tweets and mentions of Elon Musk reduced to great extend hence I don't think it would repeat such pump and even if it pump it won't last.

With the halving fast approaching, alongside many people being attracted to the coin due to elon musk’s
influence and it being tied with his own product like tesla, I do think it will maintain
a quite strong position in the market.

It’s definitely one of the coins I am looking at in hopes of generating profits.
There’s a huge chance its hype dies through so the most I can do is take advantage
of the hype.

even though some people might say that dogecoin will eventually fail I think it will not, thats the thing with crypto, meme coin are somehow being favoured by people it never lacks the community that supports, even new meme coin instantly gaining recognition from many people just for the sole reason of being a meme coin.

there has been quite many meme coin released on the solana blockchain and it doesn't mean these meme coin gonna be taking up some capital off the already established meme coin.
instead it just makes the crypto market full of inflow of investment that its sometime rather confusing for people that study economics maybe.

It’s amazing how everyone in the first page was saying that it is nothing but a joke and it will fail. It’s 2024 and DOGE happens to be the lead of all memecoins, It has set an example and other memecoins are trying to follow in recreating its success story. Dogecoin that was all for fun and jokes has made people millionaires. Thanks to Elon Musk though. And today, it’s beginning to be more than just a meme coin.

You can see how it takes one man to manipulate a coin to his favor. Especially if that man is a celebrity or wealthy person. Dogecoin enjoyed its golden days thanks to Elon Musk. But don't expect other "meme" coins to get that lucky, especially when they're copies/clones of the original project. They will eventually fail, leaving us with DOGE as the sole "meme" coin in the market.

People are too greedy by paying attention to worthless coins (PEPE, SHIBA) without any substance behind them. We will see many of them getting "rekt" in the long run. Considering that Dogecoin is the original "meme" coin, don't expect it to go away anytime soon. Maybe it will last a lifetime? Who knows what the future will bring to the cryptocurrency?

In my opinion dogecoin will never fail On coinmarketcap are tons of shitcoins with no features and big price . Dogecoin is the first shitcoin with a right price . We can see dogecoin at $2-$3 this year . We just need to wait for bitcoin to be back at 25k.

No, it’s not just about Elon promoting it and all of the high prices. Meme coin technically means a coin that is just created for nothing. One common thing they have is volatility because how much their value can fly. But DOGE has been seen to be used for something (which is why it seems better/different from others). If you research you will find out that DOGE is used to tip content creators on certain social media platforms, and even used to make purchases.

Despite that, DOGE is the king of memecoins, just like BTC is the king of cryptocurrencies.

Dogecoin holds "first-mover advantage" on the market, so it's hard to believe a competing coin will take down its place in the future. It's like saying either ETH or SOL will surpass BTC by becoming the largest cryptocurrency in market cap. SHIBA, PEPE, and the likes are only failed attempts to carry on Dogecoin's success. You'd think someone like Elon Musk will endorse these coins? I doubt it. Without someone to "pump" them, they will eventually fade away into oblivion.

The good-old Dogecoin will survive, but don't expect market prices to stay high for a very long time. The hype is good until it lasts. If you're smart, you'd sell these wortheless "meme" coins for BTC when they go all the way to the moon. Play it safe, and there would be nothing to worry about.

Yes, no doubt it was like the greatest gold rush started from a meme coin. Elon did contributed a lot from that and then it wasn't followed by its own rush. However, that trend has been extended and until now we can see still a lot of meme coins and the craze has never been gone.
Even during the bear market, there has been a lot of memecoins that have pumped and became part of the top 100 in terms of market cap.

I highly agree, If it is not without promoting by Elon musk, then Dogecoin will not go as much as higher as today. And it shows that most of the traders today are into memecoins and they see the benefits and potentials of their markets in the future.

Absolutely right, you know DOGE coin price was not even 1 cent before Elon Musk promoting it, back in 2016 i was own a few million of DOGE coin and when i bought it only with 20$-30$ if i am not wrong. yes, bitcoin plays an important role when the bull season arrives, the increase in bitcoin reaches NEW ATH, which really supports other altcoins, such as meme coin. When I join this forum in 2022, Dogecoin was still on the very low price but as of 2023 last year, the coin rase and people became interested the more to invest. Really Elon Musk helped this project to grow. And today now Dogecoin is one of the best coins in the cryptocurrency ecosystem world. And now that the coin is still at the tender stage is the best time to invest and be hodling it for a long term. And one of the thing is that the Dogecoin network is not yet congested like Solana and Ethereum network so I will also look into it to invest some amount for a long term.

That's right, maybe even the OP is now holding and enjoying the results of doge investment from that year, Many people are rich impromptu with the spark of meme coins, hype, trash etc. But this trend continues and many are interested in maybe the next few phases / survive in the market. More and more meme coin activists and developers are also very enthusiastic about entering cex tier 1, which is progress in the ranks of cheap coins.

Doge is a pioneer who managed to break the statement that as far as fundamentals and supply a lot, even new projects get an exclusive view for buyers. Halving is still counting down, I believe doge will return to ATH, we will see the news again.

so many meme coin being developed with their own quirks and branding these days and some of them gain succeed and massive recognition from the community.
what always confuses me though how exactly a meme coin suddenly gaining half a billion market cap just within a day with very low budget for marketing and yes i'm talking about certain latest meme coin that gained that massive valuation within very short of time due to an accident and the fact that it overtake certain coin easily that spends literally millions into marketing is always kinda crazy to me honestly.
i believe that its due to the force of community accompanying the release of the meme coin but its always crazy in my mind, half billion isn't some measly amount when we are talking about valuation
and such massive valuation usually takes time to be gained even for the project with most reputation but with meme coin its like its something thats very normal to be happening.
