Hello,

I'm new here and i really wonder how do you analyze the statistics and make the decision of buying Bitcoin. For example, i want to invest in Bitcoin but don't know the right time to buy. Current price is 8756.70USD and it can probably keep increasing. Should i wait for it to decrease? How long could it be keep increasing in value? When is the best time to enter the market for me?

There are too many information in this forum so i felt kind of lost here. I would really appreciate any kind of advice.

Thanks

In my opinion if you're buying to hold there's never a bad time to buy.

I'm buying to hold. I see this as a long term investment.

Well, you answered it by yourself, if you are going to hold your bitcoins for a few months, or years, then what are you waiting to buy your first bunch of bitcoins?

It is not difficult mate, if you buy now, but it suddenly drops to $7500 in some weeks, it will finally go upto $10000 by the next year, or maybe a little bit more, so i dont think that you can wait more, who knows if the price is over $9000 by  tomorrow? You can not lose the chance of buying at $8700 because it will be going up as soon as possible.
Dont be quiet, just buy right now if you are going to hold for some time.

This account has recently been hacked and taken over, I haven't posted anything for about two years.  Whoever has been using it and pretending to be me is a scammer.

if you want to buy it as a 'saving' or we called it buying it and hold it i think it's not a bad idea,
but if i were you i prefer to use midrun strategy,
what i mean is right now Bitcoin looking so damn good, right now we're waiting for an announcement from CME group's(maybe).
and waiting for their promise we keep breaking another all new highs,
people used it as a trigger to push the price into the sky,
some people think the price would be increasing a lot after they announce it,that is why when we're nearing the date Bitcoin price keep moving upward.
buying it right now and selling it after we hear a news from them about it.
afterward wait for a pullback and then buy it back.

you get profit from the first run and then you can buy lower in the future.

I did not know about "CME Groups". How/where do you suggest me to follow their announcements? I just found their News and Press Releases page.

If everybody who intends to buy wait for it to fall, then there won't be need for it to rise to the point you are quoting currently. But when people buy, they do so for two reasons
1. They can afford it whether with the excess they have, or going behind their means, they just can afford it.

2. They have the hope that the price will increase which is what is keeping them sane even in the situation where things are not going according to plan.

Since you're in it for the long run, don't bother timing the market. Just make sure that you are actually aware of what you are getting yourself into, know how to keep your coins safe and don't invest more than you can afford to lose.

If BTC's volatility is a concern, you could try dollar cost averaging your way in. It may reduce your long term profits, but it can also work as a hedge against sudden market turndowns. Search for something like "dollar cost averaging vs lump sum investing" and you should get a rough idea about the up and downsides of both approaches. Most articles you'll find on that matter will be about traditional stocks, but for the most part it can be applied to cryptocurrencies as well.

I wouldn't bother too much with keeping an eye on CME's announcement. It's influence on the BTC market is hard to predict, may go both ways and once the market has reacted it may be already too late to change position.

My own timing in buying in was mediocre in retrospect.

Buying a set amount over a period of months means I could've ended up with 3-4x more coins had I cost averaged for the same outlay.

People who try to time anything in a black or white manner end up looking like arseholes. Better to spread your bets. It could go either way. That's kind of the point.

The right time to buy bitcoin is when  bitcoin has crisis or in the coming christmass it is obviously to go down on that period cause some will defenitely sell their bitcoins. Best choice to atleast decrease for a $1000 or more we did know how every users affect bitcoin.

If you are a long-term investor then it's always good time to buy bitcoin, even of you at $10,000 market price.
But if you want to earn profits in a short period, the the above advice is better for your prudential investments.
The price of bitcoin may again hike below for correction on the day of upcoming christmas, you are free to decide the right time

Should i wait for it to decrease?
You should not wait for it to decrease if you are planning to hold it long term since you will profit anyway. If you would only hold it for months, consider waiting for a dump first.
How long could it be keep increasing in value?
No one can tell you the overall duration of btc price increase but one thing is for sure, it will continue to rise in value so long as there is a growing demand for it.
When is the best time to enter the market for me?
The best time to enter the btc market is when it have dumped hard but finding chances like this is pretty rare so just always have some money ready in case a dump happen. Just buy using 1/4 of your planned investment capital then buy every dip and dump until you have invested all of your capital.

Anytime? You may never think for a twice the buy the bitcoin. A lot of the good news comes from the various reliable source. just like belarusian will try to legalize the cryptocurrency and philippine too.
And another company will try to launch the bitcoin futures trade just like CME.

I really appreciate your answers. Another question, should i also invest like %5-%10 of my budget on altcoins for short term profits, like ETH, LTC etc? Do you have any suggestions for alt coins? Which ones should i focus nowadays?

I think if you want to buy bitcoins to hold than you could buy them any time as no one knows when its gonna drop or how much its gonna rise .So, just buy them as if it by any means comes down then there is a pretty good chance that it will rise again and will rise even more than before. Its already incresing as it has increased to 8,973.37$ and will touch 10000$ by next month.

After every price increase there is usually a price correction, but in what moment will it happen it is difficult to predict. So you can wait your chance to buy cheaper BTC or buy now at 9000$ and hold few years for a good profit.Investing in BTC is very risky, the market could turn in any direction at any time.So invest only what you can afford to lose,by price change or losing your BTC in any way(sending to wrong address, hacking, forget private keys/seed...)

I really appreciate your answers. Another question, should i also invest like %5-%10 of my budget on altcoins for short term profits, like ETH, LTC etc? Do you have any suggestions for alt coins? Which ones should i focus nowadays?

It is good idea to invest some % of money in altcoins,ETH is looking good lately and some other coins. It is better to check list of all coins and do some research, everyone has their own favorites but it is up to you to decide where you'll invest money.

I've said this countless times before. When you want to buy Bitcoin to hold, it's literally never a bad time to buy. You'll always profit in the long run.

I really appreciate your answers. Another question, should i also invest like %5-%10 of my budget on altcoins for short term profits, like ETH, LTC etc? Do you have any suggestions for alt coins? Which ones should i focus nowadays?

Most of the Top 20 coins by market cap are good options. My favorite ones are Monero, Ethereum, Litecoin and maybe Decred. You could put some of your budget into some of them but by all means do some research on them first. Know what you're getting yourself into.

Huh?

The special thing about Bitcoin is that it is severely limited in supply. 16 million ever so ANYTIME is the BEST time to buy it and spend when you retire like a boss. Or keep waiting and encounter the possibility of buying 1/100th of what you can buy today in a few years.
