Are there exchanges which have a consistently low price on BTC?  bitstamp.com has the lowest I've seen with $90.26 at the moment.

Real nice, thank you.  Are those considered to be the big 4 exchanges?  mtgox, bitstamp, btce, campbx?

The price is low for a reason.

Either there is no sufficient depth/order book, or it costs too much to move money in/out.

Gox is by far the biggest. Followed by Bitstamp that has roughly 1/4 of the volume.
Btce is not bad for trading but is a bitch when it comes to deposits and withdrawals.
And CapBX, well not really anything to tell about them. Wink

How is it making deposits and withdrawals to/from Bitstamp from a US account?

That only applies to fiat, correct?

Deposits and withdrawals to/from a US account look really easy there.  They do a low volume?  Does that mean slow buy/sell transactions?

No idea, i am Europe based.

Correct, BTC flow is as fast as on any other exchange.

They have an extremely low volume, which obviously makes manipulations easier.

Me too at the moment.  Are all Bitstamp deposits/withdrawals made via wire transfer?

Can you tell me a little more about this?  Are you saying if I want to buy BTC on campbx, there may be a long delay?

If you are in Europe, Bitstamp (with SEPA) is probably your best option.  If you have a US bank account though, and especially if you have a Dwolla account, then CampBX is probably better.

As for buying on CampBX and low volume, this is really only going to be a problem if you want to buy or sell lots of Bitcoin.  If you are looking to buy/sell less than 100 BTC or so, you should be perfectly fine.

Moving fiat both into and out of Bitstamp is very cheap, quick and simple for most Europeans. What's hard is moving fiat out of MtGox, and this is why their price is so much higher than the other exchanges.

The low volume means the spread is larger, and it can take longer to fill orders if you don't want to cross the spread. While getting money to and from US accounts is nice and easy using Dwolla, the website itself is rather tediously slow, takes several seconds for any page load, and I don't like the layout, it seems like every piece of information is tucked away behind a different page load making the whole experience extremely time consuming to just put in a couple simple orders.
