Hi guys,

I thought I would make myself known. I've been involved in crypto for a while but have only just taken an interest in physical coins. I apologise in advance if there's already a thread written specifically for newbies.

My first purchase was a 2013 Silver Casascius 1 BTC recently through a contact. Since then I've picked-up a few bits and pieces and have been looking at manufacturers sites, ebay and here. My motivations are partially for financial gain and partially for historic values. So I mainly look for something that (I think) will appreciate in value but will also buy random pieces that I think will hold historic value (asides from just monetary alone). I've been reading some of the threads around buying premiums etc.

I thought I would list a bunch of questions to make for easier reading. If it's already been covered in depth, please paste a link.

1. Is there much value to unfunded coins?

2. Is there much value to commemorative coins or do you think there will be in future?

3. From purely an aesthetic point of view, which coins / manufacturers getting you foaming at the mouth?

4. Which sites give you the best value or variety of rare coins?

5. Rules for auctions, escrow, general posting etc.

6. Why do you like physical crypto coins?

I realise that some of these are 'how long is a piece of string' type questions. I'm sure there's a variety of opinions, I'm just keen to listen and learn .

Cheers.

For starters buy the encyclopedia of physical bitcoins
https://coinfirm.org also great place to find any coin!

Big help.

Also my site www.cryptocoinscollection.com
Will give you some ideas of what we collect.

Best coins to own..casascius..lealana...btcc...denarium..to name a few

STAY AWAY FROM LOADED
Alatlin
Coinographic
Microsoul

Yes there is value to unfunded coins..history

But i prefer loaded coins! Why...they are unique in the history of coin making..also you are actually holding physical digital currency.

Thanks for this, your site is an encyclopedia in itself! You have an impressive collection that I'll have to read up on. Plenty of coins that I haven't come across yet. I have already order an encyclopedia from Coinfirm and looking forward to receiving it.

I've been reading some of the threads around buying premiums etc.

I thought I would list a bunch of questions to make for easier reading. If it's already been covered in depth, please paste a link.

1. Is there much value to unfunded coins? YES

2. Is there much value to commemorative coins or do you think there will be in future? YES and YES

3. From purely an aesthetic point of view, which coins / manufacturers getting you foaming at the mouth? Coinographic Chikun

4. Which sites give you the best value or variety of rare coins? Best value and variety....Here of course, but you can find some gems on Ebay if you are there at the right time!! Cheesy

5. Rules for auctions, escrow, general posting etc. Check previous auctions and sales for this info. Most people follow a general format with a few tweaks

6. Why do you like physical crypto coins? Because to me they a lot more interesting than regular coins and who doesn't like Bitcoin!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!

I realise that some of these are 'how long is a piece of string' type questions. I'm sure there's a variety of opinions, I'm just keen to listen and learn .

Cheers.

For your last question I would like to add: for the pre-August 2017 coins you also get the BCH, Bitcoin Gold and any other fork-coins that will be created...

1. Is there much value to unfunded coins and/or collectibles? Absolutely! Just take a look at PaperSafe notes or Kialara bars. Enough said.

2. Is there much value to commemorative coins or do you think there will be in future? God, I hope so. Wink

3. From purely an aesthetic point of view, which coins / manufacturers getting you foaming at the mouth? No comment due to conflict of interest. I do love my PaperSafe and Kialara collectibles!

4. Which sites give you the best value or variety of rare coins? No comment due to conflict of interest.

5. Rules for auctions, escrow, general posting etc. Simply check out a few of the recent ads, then tweak the format to suit your particular needs. Keep it as simple as possible.

6. Why do you like physical crypto coins? They're the perfect way to show off your love of BITCOIN! Plus, who doesn't love shiny, metal trinkets?! Wink
