Today, even quality projects do not guarantee profit. I hold a lot of coins of the project Essentia, there was not a single price jump for half a year. I would invest in Stellar and Ripple today.

Holding and investing your 12 bitcoin is a good choices. Investing some of your bitcoins to altcoins is really big help to grow your bitcoin that you have. But better to choose altcoins who have potential to up the value in the future.

Keep trading and make more profit or HODL.

I don't think that Bitcoin will lose its leadership position. In my mind this coin will continue to be the main cryptocurrency on the market. I am on my own Bitcoin's holder. Keep your money for better times.

To the OP, there is another option, which would be:

As of this posting, 12 BTC is worth circa $60-65K in the markets.  Your other options all stay entirely within crypto, which is not perfectly wise, in my opinion.  Owning some combination of equities, debt instruments, precious metals, real estate, crypto, etc would be wiser, while still acquiring more BTC using your, apparently, proven method as mentioned by other posters.  That is what I would prescribe.

thinking of selling it now is an action that in my opinion makes no sense. there is no other way to keep holding it until prices rise again. after the price rises, you can sell a portion of your Bitcoin and start with Altcoin.

When you have 12 BTCs in your hand, that means you are holding a lot of good opportunities to create crypto. Follow me:
- Hold 4 BTCs and wait for them to rise.
- Invest 7 BTC for potential Altcoin
- To invest 1 BTC for ICO.

As the market fluctuation is too high, I would suggest to hold as much as you can right now until the price of Bitcoin increases. I see you have more ETH than BTC and the price of ETH is fallen to very low so keeping them would be the best decision.
