- xe.com is using the currency code XBT for bitcoin
- There is discussion of the code XBT becoming the official currency code for bitcoin, possibly replacing BTC (BTC belongs to the country of Bhutan)- see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=149150.0  , http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/six-interbank-clearing-include-a-symbol-for-bitcoin-in-iso-4217
