Hello everyone!

I hope you are doing well today. Hope that you're having an awesome weekend.

I have a question for you guys. We all know that most of us love to travel back and forth, right? For now, we are using the old and traditional FIAT currency to pay for our airline bookings. I believe there are some travel agencies or airlines who are accepting Bitcoin for paying airline tickets.

Now that the alternate cryptocurrencies are on the rise, which one of them would be the first to be accepted by an airline company?

Is it Ethereum? Electroneum? Dash? Or any other?

I would like to hear your thoughts about this. Cheers!

So far I think there is no airline that received altcoin as payment, maybe altcoin less effective as a means of payment because it has to go through some procedures to exchange it, because for now  generally peoples are more comfortable to use virtual money while using bitcoin only a little airlines that implement this system. It may take a lot of consideration to use altcoin as a means of payment, remember  in generally altcoin is used as an investment rather than a paying tool there are also certain risks that altcoin has.

so far as I know there are no companies that accept altcoin as payment for airline fees. You should redeem it to real money in order to use. It's the same.
But please search, who knows there are travel that accept cryptocurrency as payment.

It will take a while until another currency will get traction and awareness and trust. It might be ETH if the business on the blockchain starts to get serious, through successful ICOs. But for now BTC has all the chances.

regarding how fast and secure and cheap the transactions are, they could adopt ripple, or just use their ledger , but who knows we could see a new ICO in few days Wink

This is a very curious question. As soon as ripple is closely connected with banks, I suppose exactly this cryptocurrency might be used first in airline companies.
