I'm interested in getting a small amount of silver while the price is relatively cheap, probably 5-10 BTC worth.

But I object to paying VAT (I've already payed VAT on my mining equipment, tax on the fiat I used to buy BTC, not to mention the tax on all the tobacco and booze I've consumed in my life). Also I definitely want physical silver and not a certificate "proving" it's in a vault somewhere.

I'm aware of that Estonian company that offer VAT-free silver, but I'd prefer to use BTC to buy it. I guess the only option is to cash out BTC to fiat and use that on the Estonian site...? Anyone got any better ideas?

cheers

I'm afraid VAT seems to be a rather permanent feature in the UK economy, there's not much that can be done beyond getting the law changed but that isn't likely to happen any time soon.

Yeah that's what I figured tbh, cheers for the reply.

It sucks that VAT is compulsory on silver but not on gold, when silver is (in my humble opinion) a much better investment right now compared to gold. The gold price is dropping but still seems horrifically manipulated and overpriced...  Angry
