Why or what got you into BTC?

I'm interested to hear from everyone as to why or what got you into BTC or any other crypto currencies?

A friend of mine showed me Bitcoin last September telling me that I could just make money by leaving my computer running. Needless to say I was a little skeptical, but after some resource I started mining.

I found Litecoin on BTC-e when I was looking for sites other than Mt-Gox to trade BTC and have been day trading between the two currencies with reasonable profit for about a month or two.

My friend told me about it when the diff was at 100. Just when it was rising insanely fast (before the crash). Those where the days, $5 profit a day on my 7850.

When someone told me about the TOR deepnet, I browsed around and kept seeing that the accepted this "bitcoin".

l kept reading about it on other sites, so I decided to get involved

I saw a post on reddit about the deep web and Bitcoin last summer.  I found Bitcoin interesting.  I couldn't figure out how to mine with my GPU back then, but decided to give it another shot back in November (after the mining reward was halved from 50 BTC to 25 BTC) with the MtRed mining pool.

That is what intrigued me. Leave the pc on and it auto-magically turns electricity into "money"

After learning about bitcoin I realized it had so much more potential.

I remember when I could make .1 on my nvidia. Those were the days, but it was only worth $1ish. Since BTC was around $10ish.
