How old are you? 12, 17, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 60?

If you don't feel like divulging this kind of information, you don't have to answer, I'm just curious Wink

I've been trading/investing in the stock market since I was 12. I'm glad I came across Bitcoin. Smiley

Wow. The top category is "over 55." I guess we all get dismissed and lumped together when we get that ancient, although current life expectancy for most 1st world countries is 80 or more.

Just goes to show how young the average forum user is.  Poll results are unsurprising.

Polls are probably inaccurate but it seems like a large portion of this forum is either in high school or in college.

This bodes well for the currency. It means we are not stuck with a bunch of old farts who only care about their social security entitlement and how they are going to retire.

Yea, fuck the wiser, more experienced people.  Young and dumb is the best foundation for any movement!

Old farts aren't willing to take risks because they have much more to lose and are too afraid of doing so...
The young and dumb lack experience and are not afraid to lose because they have much less to lose and aren't fully aware of it... and they're usually more ambitious.  Cheesy

Oh I don't know. I'm 60 and use the name "Dulloldfart" elsewhere online and am not afraid of the odd risk or two. That's not to say that I'm about to take up parkour but I don't mind investing some time and money into bitcoin.

Well only three people over 55 voted so not a big problem.

Old farts aren't willing to take risks because they have much more to lose and are too afraid of doing so...

Old farts have merely learned what risks are better than others. For instance:

1.) risking too much on the crazy blond when I was 25: fucking stupid.

2.) doing the same thing with a redhead when I was 30: even more stupid.

3.) 20 years later, risking some bucks on bitcoins when they were at $4, went to $30, crashed, and I held on anyway: not as stupid.

I'd be curious to see the demographics of the various ponzi scams that have occurred recently. While I'm sure some old farts got caught up in it, I'd wager a lot of the participants were under 30-35.
