probably depends on your mining hardware speed.

if you have 10 GHash you may not need pool at all

as i see it : if you have a high hashrate and mine in the pool which has small hash rate you can wait longer for block (days, weeks) to be found but your share can be bigger-still depends on your own hashrate contribution to pool's total.

In pools with high hashrates you can have steady flow of small amount of bitcoins as the large pools can find blocks frequently.
but it still depends on your own hashrate what share you get from the block.

Lol, no cpu make 360mhash, he is definitely using the GPU

360 is a bit low value for a 6970, try putting -v -w128 in guiminer and start the mining

320-420. i think your hashrate is ok. you can play a bit with overclocking etc.. to get a bit more

I should tell you I'm not a miner. But on my antique thinkpad running Ubuntu 10.10 I think I have gotten 541 MH/s.
That is with no real video card and a 1.7GHz processor.  The way I checked this is using the interface of the bitcoin client. It may be removed in this latest version, but it used to appear in the lower left corner of the interface when in "mine coins" mode.

the best pool atm is triplemining (check sig for link), it offers more rewards based on the friends you invite to join

on a side note : less hash power = more income for your shares cuz it gets split by fewer people, however it takes longer too get paid of course...

For comparison, i have a 6950 not overclocked and not unlocked and i get 315mhash/s with -w128 -v -f0

You must be thinking of KH/s. I doubt there is a laptop in production today that can reach 540MH/s, let alone one with integrated video. For comparison, that's about what you'd expect from 2x Radeon 5850s in Crossfire that have been set up properly.

I see alot of recommendations to add those flag -v -w128. What are those flags and what are the implications on the video card? I'm not sure if I want to overclock it to the extent of killing it. this is not overclocking is it?

Triplemining's the way to go then. We have only been going a few days and have only 45 miners currently active, plus you can add others to your pool to increase your return

This pool is unfair towards anyone not actually referring anyone.
