I'd like to get into mining and like everyone else and their mama, I want the S9.

Having done a bit of research though, looks like Bitmain doesn't exactly have the best reputation for customer service. What's more, it seems that if you have a problem with your S9, Bitmain will screw you over in trying to get it fixed or replaced.

Before I go down this rabbit hole of mining, I want to hear from people who have dealt with Bitmain and have experience with the S9. Are the failures I've read about a matter of inadequate cooling, truly faulty units, or something else?

Please let me know.

Ditto. In fact this is the direct link to it
That said, personally I prefer my Avalons now from Canaan.io plus they have Authorized distributors now in the US and EU. That means full factory warranty support if needed. Some folks have had issues (mainly related to an unflashed dongle) but overall much more reliable.

The problem with Canaan is that they dont move forward. A year have passed and the latest model is still 741.

If you go check out the Avalon thread you will see that there are some pretty heavy teasers that have been dropped in regards to the A8 series being rolled out Q1/Q2 of next year.

Not fuzzy has the link just a few posts up.

I was going to order from Bitmain at one point but it became a huge waiting game, and a headache and a half to try and get an order in. This was months ago and I haven't looked back, since getting my Avalons.
