hi all,

Am using nice hash to throw up some hashrate to slush pool.
Assuming there is only one block at current time.

Do i have to mine after a block is confirmed(valid or invalid) or mining means "confirming the blocks"(valid or invalid)?

For example on slushpool.
Block found and 100 confirmations to validate/confirm block.
and there is duration mentioned for each found block.

PFL for image of slushpool.
So, it means, after 100 confirmations, the block is valid and then we have 16:09:37 hrs to validate transactions, so that i can mine?
or
Confirming the blocks is itself mining?

Someone please clarify? thanks

You don't have to mine the confirmations....you will still get paid for that one block.

Whenever anyone (be it solo or pool) finds a block, the newly minted coins from that block cannot be spent until 100 confirmations.  That means, the network must find an additional 100 blocks.  Once it has, those coins become spendable.  Nobody can spend newly generated coins prior to the 100 confirmations.

Jonny's Pool - Mine with us and help us grow!  Support a pool that supports Bitcoin, not a hardware manufacturer's pockets!  No SPV cheats.  No empty blocks.
