"Crash" is too strong an expression. People think the price may go down because $10K is an important and strong resistance point. Besides, a lot of people are likely to have set sell orders at $10K, so whenever we get there, the sale of coins pushes back the price.

Well, to say the truth, I don't see Bitcoin price crashing once it touches $10,000 as it is right now. But I do know that correction is a must at a certain price level before it continues on its bulish run. It's understandable that at $10,000 there are just a few sell orders. It's like psychology a bit. If you want to sell at $10,000 you can be sure that because this is a kind of psychological resistance, a lot of people will also want to sell at $10,000 without a proper reason, just because it's a fancy number...
So what to do if you don't want to left behind with your sell order at $10,000 if the price just reach $9,999 and because of the others who set their limit to $9,999 (because $1 doesn't matter really) and price start to decrease for a short correction back to e.g.$8,000? Easy, just set your order to $9,9998 and you'll be the first to sell near $10,000. But some other guys see your order in the order book, and they start to lower their ask price to $9,997 or $9,990 after $9,9980 etc... So if there's a tough resistance, people will set their sell orders below that resistance just to be on the safe side.

If an asset increases its price tenfold in less than 1 year, investors likely think that it will be a bubble since the faster its price increases, the faster that it will soon pop in the market. Also, big financial/investing companies tend to give their opinions on bitcoin stating that it might crash soon. Well, they might be saying the truth but i am clinging on the fact that they are creating news that degrade bitcoin so investors will pull their investment off, resulting to a decrease on its price. Usually when a price roof is broken through, the momentum makes the price keep rising for at least a few more weeks. A crash right now will be a complete surprise to me, and even though it can definitely happen and flash crashes have happened before, the support at $10k is too strong.

When $11000 is breached, it'll just reinforce this idea.

As I see it, saying that "bitcoin will continue to rise until the end of the year" is an understatement. We don't know that for sure, there are still many factors that could turn the tide around anytime soon and remember, Christmas is just around the corner and the chances that people need a huge amount of money is high so that they can prepare for a once in a year occasion. If you were waiting for a low price to buy now is the time. You were right, the price dropped although not after reaching $10k like you expected but after reaching $11k.
