Hello guys. I just want to ask for your opinion or an advice.
I started trading since May 2017. I calculated all my loss, I already lost 50% of my capital  Sad. Some coins are still in hold.
I just want to ask what can you give to me an advice or any learnings  about trading. I'm using bittrex.
Did you use any particular strategy, or relied on gut feelings?
From my experience if you strictly follow some strategy (preferably using trading robots), you most likely break even. Finding winning strategy is complex task by itself, because it involves analyzing data, modelling, and testing, which needs to be proved on large sets of data.
Gut feeling strategy us usually the best way to loose money.
From other point of view, why not just stop trading altogether, hold bitcoin, and enjoy daily 5% gains?

Cryptocurrency is a very vast and fast market! It appear to me that you were not flipping your trade like you should. Your strategy should be clear! If you are holding for long term you should be in bitcoin. Altcoin trade is for short term and sometime you could opt out as a result of your stop loss!

Exactly if there is a proper strategy and forecast for trading then losses can be minimized and turn the loses into future gains but we need to have our own research and different plans if one plane fails rather than having limited choices and ending up losing with the hope that one strategy you have will work someday.

Am I spamming? Report me!

Firstly I would suggest you to avoid bittrex, many people call it shittrex now because they freeze funds for no reason and their support don't cares about customers.
Then I would say that your second problem after bittrex is no knowledge. You don't have to just collect money and turn in game, you need to learn at first, try yourself to find good books, don't look for help from others. When you try yourself very hard, you will achieve success. I mean you have to take some work and search yourself, read much and etc.

When we make the decision to invest in a market as volatile as this, we must always bear in mind that the possibility of suffering great losses is imminent, especially when we have no experience in this type of business. But on the other hand, this great volatility is also a great advantage, because it allows you to cover the previous losses fairly quickly if you learn through your mistakes the right time to buy and sell.

Therefore instead of lamenting for your past losses, go ahead and wait patiently for the right moment, while you learn from this forum.

If you loss,  just face it..  Or hold. If you trade it with a good coin theres a huge possibility it will go up again to compensate your loss.

If you are holding for long term you should be in bitcoin. Altcoin trade is for short term and sometime you could opt out as a result of your stop loss!

That's why on trading we need technical analysis so that we can earn more money on our trades, But there are some potential Altcoins that needed to hold for long term since some of them are been dump around since mostly of the trades/whales are keep aftering of the prime of bitcoins. And this is the right time to spot and buy those cheap potential profitable tokens. And I already earned some of them but if people would hunt it they should make sure for themselves to read on whats happening on the coin or see if the dev is active to avoid bought those dead shitcoins.

In my opinion if you trade on BTC pair, for the better doing cut loss by sell it now because the price of BTC strong up trend now. Then start trading again with short term trading and also use new risk management, fox example decide and specify percentase of take profit and cut loss because cut loss strategy is important to minimize the lose and on short term trading dont be greedy to take profit.

You should cut loss if that coins have no potential to grow more. Mostly altcoins are dead because of bitcoin price, you should consider to cutloss and hold strong altcoins like Neo, Eth, Etc...

When you invest your money on some shit coins for short-term profits then you should fix your stop loss as well otherwise you may either need to wait very long to recover or sometimes they may not recover at all.

Not only ETH, Neo is good but there are many other good coins are there but you need to carefully choose the right coins to hold for long to make profits.

It was my first time and had exactly the same experienced on trading, I thought it was easy to earn profit and I started buying Alts which ever caught my attention, that result to lost more than half of investment.

But now, I am more careful, and started to gain which I lost.
This is what makes trading a thrilling lively profession. Especially when someone is trading digital currencies as we all know how much volatile these are in nature. The most difficult one to deal with is bitcoin but it is also the most promising one when it comes to producing profit. A person learns by making mistakes and I am happy to see that you have no big regrets about past. Now you will be becoming a professional in this field soon.

Thank you for this, I know this is one of my biggest mistake. I bought some shitcoins while do not researching them before, I just bought and hold before. I realized that when in some altcoins, there are good for short term and there are some good for long term.

whatever the reason, you must ready for the worst risk in trading,, just give you one advice, dont hold altcoin for long term,, and when you make sell order, use stop loss to avoid much loss..
Almost all those who are into this business do suffer most of the times. The best thing which you can do is in order to have better future is to learn from your past mistakes and do not repeat similar kind of mistakes in the future in order to avoid any further loss. Never ever think of quitting this job as quitting cannot help you really in having anything good. You have to remain consistent in your work.

So youbare saying that you alre loss 50% without even gaining anything. That would be so unlucky for you, 50% is a big money just have some patience and those coina will already pump then you can now sell it in a higher price. But if you wanted to get some coins to be traded even without buying it, then you must probably go join in a signature bounty campaign then work for your bounty rewards then trade it.

I also lost 80% of my capital after joining the crypto for 2 months. I also started with Bittrex. But I trade the whole capital loss. Currently I have gained some capital and interest. My experience is that if you have large capital, please trade on sites such as Bittrex, Poloniex ... If your capital is not large then you should trade on smaller sites like Cryptopia, Novaexchange, Coinexchange, Yobit, Hitbtc. These commercial pages have a small volume that is less affected by market fluctuations.
The site you are trading on will not guarantee anything. Your knowledge about trading is the only thing that can take you as far as you can.

Traders were not born; we all had to learn a lot to be able to trade safely. If you think it is just by buying at dips and selling at peaks, then you are wrong. You should be able to analyze and even if your analysis ends up going wrong, you should know when to get out from a trade.

As i saw the title of the topic i felt sad for the OP Sad
i think it doesn't matter where you do your trading, what matters the most is the coins you are holding. From may to nov i think you just invested yourself in a weak coin, try the most popular alts it might help you. Goodluck trading Smiley

it's hard to be good in trading, but you can do stop loss to minimize your lost, but it cant guarantee you will not loss. actually loss is the risk of trading, everybody must be ever felt that loss, keep change your strategy, do evaluate where is your mistaken then try to choose good altcoin to be invested.

Another trick is to sell when the markets are falling to avoid further losses.  I didn’t thinking that they might bounce back back but they didn’t.  So what could have been a loss of 10% was much worse.

This is valid for shitcoins.
For good coins, you will usually end buying high and selling low.

I would invest something like 2/3 as mid/long term hold on strong coins and the remaining could be used to play on more risky investments.
Another trap is to offer when the business sectors are tumbling to maintain a strategic distance from facilitate misfortunes. I didn't suspecting that they may bob back however they didn't. So what could have been lost 10% was much more terrible.

I dont know what coins you traded, but in most cases if you traded alts, what is likely on Bittrex, you lost capital in regards to initial bitcoin value. So this is origninating from the unstoppable price surge of Bitcoin and is the case for most people that traded alts, or held alts. While Bitcoin is getting more expensive every day, your altportfolio looses value. I for example only held some different altcoins and they all underperformed in comparison to BTC, means that my portfolio also diminished more than half. But I keep hodling on, alts will recover.
Honestly, I must say that the scenario OP even painted sounds unrealistic and impossible for someone who has been into trading since May 2017. If there is something he has been doing wrong in trading, is It after 6 months he is just realizing that he has lost over 50% ?

A lot is changing in the market every day and either he was not focused on that or he was just too relaxed believing in some paid signals without the ability to make decision by himself. It is better he finds a new market to enter now that there are reds everywhere, and hopes for a better run to the moon soon when the correction rally is over.
