If you had $500 and you had to choose between two options: 1) Brand new GPU or 2) $500 worth of your favorite altcoin at current price

What would you pick and why?

I'd choose GPU.  As a miner you'll learn from the ground up, hands on which coins are mineable, algorithims.  It forces you to learn.  That's my take anyway.

I will use this amount of money to increasing my Bitcoin by doing day trade and buying some altcoin, this $500 can be turn to $10,000 in less than 1 year if really have good money management, good strategy and always keep emotion . By doing short day trade seriuosly and keep focus analysis the market that will be possible.
