Anyone aware of when/if Coinomi will support Segwit for BTG addresses?
Tried following a tutorial to sweep/import from my Electrum private key, but the address is segwit and it said it couldn't find it.
At this point just hoping they support this so I can get my BTG since other wallets are also not working.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

If you were holding coins on a segwit address before october 24th, then it should show up on the bitcoin gold blockchain at least. Have you confirmed that this is the case?

If this is the case.. then just learn how to do it in electrum. As far as I know, since BTG has replay protection, you don't need to move your coins on the BTC blockchain before moving them into the BTG blockchain, so you can simply import the private key in there and get the keys. I don't know what Coinomi is, but if it's some sort of online exchange, I wouldn't trust it.

It can't be done at this point. Coinomi doesn't support Segwit (or multisig) addresses, and I haven't heard any updates about it since they launched BTG support. Freewallet has BTG support but can't even sweep private keys at all.

The problem is that Bitcoin Gold's official site and wallet are dodgy. A couple weeks back, they were serving unknown malware to anyone who downloaded their official wallet. This went on for almost two days. Personally, I'm not comfortable downloading their core wallet. Anyone who downloads it should do it in a VM or on a throwaway PC. And make sure you only import private keys after you've moved the BTC.

Electrum doesn't support BTG. Can you provide some link or show where or how you think that's the case?

Is the SegWit address an "bech32" SegWit address (ie. a "bc1" address) from Electrum? Or is it a P2SH-P2WKH address (i.e a "3" address)?

If it is bech32, then I don't think you can do this... If it is a "3" type SegWit, then I would think that it was possible... Unfortunately, I don't have any BTG in a SegWit address to test with... but theoretically, it should be possible to move the BTG by manually creating a transaction in BitcoinGold Core.

I helped a guy this morning move his BTG from an Electrum 2FA wallet by manually creating and signing transactions, so I would assume that you simply do the same thing in BTG Core but with a SegWit address/private key

It starts with a 3. Was thinking of downloading the core wallet, but figured I'd wait for Coinomi or Electrum to have a solution.

Electrum won't have a solution... it is BTC only... it is up to the BTG devs (or a third party who cares enough) to create a fork of the Electrum code like "Jonald Fyookball" did for BitcoinCash.

Also, since when did Electrum create SegWit addresses that start with a "3"? Huh I thought all Electrum SegWit addresses started with "bc1" and were bech32? Huh Are you sure you don't just have a MultiSig or a 2FA wallet? Huh

You can get BTG out of a 2FA wallet... It's not the easiest task in the world, and requires that you have the BitcoinGold Core wallet installed and fully synced... But it is definitely possible.

Have a look at the fairly lengthy tutorial here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2550529.msg26001755#msg26001755

There are also services that will do it for you (for a fee of course)
