Take a look at the Announcement/Token board and you'll see 100's of new accounts starting new threads about new coins daily. Now 90% of these are either scams, or doubles. Can we implement a rule where you need to be a FULL member to post in the ANN section? This way all the scams are gone and filtered out. In order to have a new project you need to either be a full member or have a full member of this forum post your thread for you.

would be really difficult to enforce unless a special limitation on that section was created to limit some member ranks from posting there, or an entirely new section (tbh i dont know if there is an altcoin ann section or not, i dont really go there and i have it hidden). dont really like that idea too much myself though, newbie jail was discontinued and i dont think restriction like that should have a place on the forum at this time. and if not that, would be difficult to enforce manually, we only have so many moderators after all. we could go with a solution similar to the copper member thing that was implemented recently, with those members who paid to be allowed to post in an ann section.
then again, caveat emptor is pretty much the policy of the forum, its probable a solution wont be implemented at all.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

Seems like a good idea but would be a pity for knowledgeable long timer lurkers who might not have posted as much and are still stuck with lower ranks like Jr Member but yeah it should reduce the spam by a ton

The altcoins tokens sub-board already has the restriction of deleting posts.
But to reduce scam coins, I am with you and think a minimum activity level should be reached in order to make new ann thread of the coin/token.

Understood. But like @apoorvlathey mentioned perhaps we it'd be nice if we could implement that a person needs to reach a certain level in order to make new ann thread of the coin/token. We would reduce so much spam and scams that are giving crypto a really bad rap.

I would change the game here and implement the rule that anyone who is willing to annonce ICO on btt must be certified  by one of  reputable  companies  that measure the trust or scam of that ICO. The list of those companies might be approved by forum's olds. Very sad that worst type of scammers had occupied such reputable forum as btt. Community has to change all this.

btctalk is a mixed bag. you need to put in the research and talk to people in the community of said altcoin if you really want to make smarter investments. i do agree that people with no clout shouldn't just hop on and start flappin their gums about this and that though.

Op, your suggestion wouldn't work as people would just buy accounts to create their thread as many already do. I have previously suggested that we charge a fee to make your coin announcement here because it's currently far too easy for scammers to knock up a half-assed idea with nothing at all behind it other than the effort it took them to write up the thread. Charging a fee would at least sort the wheat from the chaff and you would also have to be willing to put some money behind your idea.

Theymos has suggested someone actually do this. I think it would be worthwhile but next to zero ICOs would make it through if we had some sort of decent verification process (which I guess is a good thing).

It may seem good idea, but I doubt the biggest part of users will support it. I have seen such suggestion on Meta board already, but it wasn't successful, even a well known manager Lauda was against and this fact tells a lot.

It is kinda unfair to other members with lower ranks who have knowledge of certain things that they can't share because they are underestimated in this industry. I believe that they can learn new things by learning from their mistake. If you think that they are spamming then pm them so they can learn.Do not criticize them. yes I, too, believe that there must be a certain barrier to posting a topic cause they might be off but I am still open cause I know there is always room for improvement

Can we implement a rule where you need to be a FULL member to post in the ANN section? This way all the scams are gone and filtered out. In order to have a new project you need to either be a full member or have a full member of this forum post your thread for you.

If this would be implemented, it wouldn't produce any promising result since account sales are pretty evident in this forum and anyone interested on producing ANN threads to make it look legit would just hire someone of a higher rank to manage it. Have you took a trip to the services section of this forum recently? There are quite a number of people interested on hiring established managers to do the job for them. It somehow makes the ANN look legit and at the same time mask the coin on being a fraud or whatever. The forum is also not responsible on whatever scam a person falls into while they are using this forum. Caveat emptor, folks.
