Hi all,
Just wondered what medium you are using to buy Bitcoin? I am using Coinbase at the moment. However, the upper limit to buy Bitcoin is £500 weekly via credit card. (I might add that I always pay the CC in full each month by the way).
Just wondered what exchange you guys use and what the upper limit is via credit card etc? Also any reason you've chosen that particular exchange over others?
Thanks

If you buy enough bitcoin, I think you can buy bitcoins off the counter, OTC deals. But what you need to know is that money from OTC transactions can be black money.

try out: kraken.com; kraken is very reputable but it's said to have very long verification times. Might aswell verify now. Also, https://gemini.com and https://bitsquare.io; though it depends if your country or state actually supports them. I recommend Bittrex.com, or if you want the top Cryptocurrency exchange are the best exchange because the are highly secure and faster than low end exchange.
Did you read the actual post? OP was asking what service people use specifically to buy bitcoin. Not to exchange bitcoin for other coins.

I just gave my experience about Bittrex. I am experiencing a reduced WD limit and it is difficult to ferivicate an account. I've given a support ticket and today I have not got anything yet.

You are fully aware if he asked about buying bitcoins he might not care about the color of money?! And the suggestions pointing at Bittrex or Kraken should perhaps read the Exchanges board at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=223.0 looking for Bittrex and Kraken complaints.

I prefer Kraken to buy bitcoin with fiat, as I trust them most. I used bittrex for altcoin trading, but I quit using them with their new "update", they want my passport now, so I can gain access to my funds again I think I might try out cryptopia the next time when I have time for altcoin trading.

Localbitcoin.com is one of the best exchange for buying bitcoins you can see many traders in this exchange and they offer you many offers so you can select which one is best for you. I always buy and sell bitcoins in the localbitcoins.com but I pay them with fiat by transacting the amount to their bank account.

it really depends on your country , cause what may be good for some people may not be suitable for your country at all if I were you I would try all the available exchanges at least for little money first , then stick with the one you liked the most and that allow you to do big transactions
personally I never used exchanges to buy or sell bitcoin for USD , cause it's kinda impossible here in my country but we have some facebook groups where people can make deals and then do the trade , this may be a good option for you too

I've had luck with coinbase but at this moment it is buggy, something is wrong. Might be too many taking profits as it's dipping down a bit

for buying bitcoin, I recommend using localbitcoin because we can find recommended seller which can help us to buy bitcoin and sell bitcoin. fortunately, I have a friend which helping me so far, so I don't have any problem when I wan to buy bitcoin. I never tried to buy bitcoin at exchanges or coinbase because the fee is too big for me, I'd prefer to buy with my friend.

i signed up on cryptopia.co. They handle bitcoin but not much volume like the big established bitcoin exchanges. A must for those hard to find alt coins that are not so popular though.

Another one right below your post. I'm using coinbase, although I don't like their api that much. I prefer the api of yobit for instance, as it's more trading oriented. Coinbase is more noob friendly for that matter and verification is fast and easy.

In fact, there is no one solution. all exchanges have their advantages and disadvantages. I think that would be better for you to create accounts on all the exchanges and then choose for themselves the best. Some of the exchanges I look at the trend of bitcoin and have time to sell or purchase coins for a few seconds before the price changes. In other markets, convenient conclusion Fiat. Learn to trade everywhere.

Coinbase is also a good exchange but unfortunately it's only available for few countries all over the world so I think the better exchange for now is Bittrex and Poloniex. These exchanges IMO are the best, they're very secure and easy to use. But don't forget to verify your account carefully if you don't want your account blocked for a while

I'm using coinbase because it allows me to use EUR. I was considering Bitfinex but it 's an USD exchange and I don't have any USD so having to exchange every time wouldn't be worth it and Bitstamp had a very annoying verification process. Their requirements are extremely high when compared to other platforms. Opening a bank account takes less time.

Since Coinbase doesn't support our country, I used our local exchanger instead. I suggest that make research if there is one on your area. It's way more convenient because surely cash in options there will touch your preferred method e.g banks, credit card, or even the usual local payment processor there with less fees compare to global exchanges. I suggest to compare all fees on different exchanges so that you can choose what suits you (in terms of purchasing bitcoin via credit card) and take note that not all exchanges support all countries. Maybe you can tell us where you from so that community can sort it out those exchanges.
