blockchain.info is the safest web-wallet in my opinion, it has the advantage that you have control over your private keys. But the safest way to store Bitcoins for long-term is a paper wallet. It's easy to create and the risk of losing your coins is really low when you create it using the the correct security measures, you can find a guide here: https://www.weusecoins.com/bitcoin-cold-storage-guide/.
I've been using blockchain.info for several months or years (I guess) and I can say that this is one of the trusted one and many are treating it as their very own bank.

But I don't advise anyone to treat it as your very own bank, just like tamango do, it's better to have a nano ledger s or trezor for your safekeeping.

Mycellium and electrum is also a good choice for desktop wallets they are few of the trusted and popular bitcoin wallets.

Blockchain is good wallet it would allow the VPN to verify in the time of login and it have two factor authentication too but if you login to the wallet by surfing in Google results means you may find the fake site same like blockchain. I personally some of the people who lost their money like that in last year. I do use it and I found some little funds still stagnated in the wallet. I hope you can go with the Coinbase wallet since it is secured and you can sell your bitcoin on their same exchange too when you needed.
Hardware wallet and all does not need to keep your wallet safe. You just have your private key and wallet.dat file without shared to anyone.

Don't search on google when you are trying to access blockchain.info, there are too many misleading and fake sites that are phishing links.

Getting those information and trying to log in with your account that you won't noticed. This type of problem are now popular and I guess the awareness now has been raised.

Bookmark it and other wallets that you are using so you won't fall with those misspelled phishing links.

Just don't use web wallets!  They're unsafe because you do not have access to your private keys!

Use one of the thin clients like Electrum.  Very easy to set up and you own the private keys.

You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

I really suggest web wallet supported by blockchain, others say don't believe hosted web wallets but in my country I haven't experience trouble on transactions in blockchain (: since, I am participating a campaign and the project is introducing a new web wallet , I recommend it to you sir, but please read, check and review carefully the white paper and ask questions to Dev regarding to the information you want to know. (Dimpay.IO) Think before you click.

I suggest mycellium is the safe wallet with private keys  that we can secured our money.A little bit lower transactions fee when transfering, it is good for keeping our money. It is a good choice and trusted wallet.

Yeah, Mycelium is nice wallet, also support hw wallets like trezor and ledger. Do not use any online web wallet unless they do not provide you private keys.

For now i am using multiple bitcoin wallet because i want to divide my fund to lessen the risk of it.

I am using blockchain.info, mycelium, coinbase and our local bitcoin wallet coins.ph also now i added electrum in my list of bitcoin wallet.

All of this are great services and i do not encounter any problem regarding wirhdrawal and transaferring my fund.

I will recommend these wallet to those people who are looking for safe online bitcoin wallet.

Also i like to have multiple wallet to have a choice which is the wallet has small transaction fees.

It won't be nice for you to save your entire or huge bitcoin savings in an online wallet, because you never can tell, anything can happen. We have heard numerous stories on hackers, bugs or even malwares.

To save for huge bitcoin savings, you should consider using Ledger and Trezor. They are the tops when it comes to considerable offline savings for huge bitcoins.
But if you want the online wallet for collecting and sending bitcoin. Then in my opinion, I think the best are;
https://wallet.mycelium.com and
https://Electrum.org
There have been good reviews about them. And I personally use Mycelium, good online wallet if I must say.
Both can be useful for both desktop and Android .

Guys, client apps don't have different fees.  Clients like Electrum and Mycelium have different algorithms for automatically choosing a fee based on market conditions.  If the fee seems high it's not the client but the network's current conditions driving it.  You can in fact override the suggested fees (at least on Electrum) and enter anything you want.  But keep in mind that entering a lower fee will potentially cause your transaction to take days or weeks to be confirmed.

Bitcointalk is full of threads with people crying the blues about stuck transactions who entered a fee that was too low for conditions.

You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

I have ledger nano s but a friend of mine doesn't have and want to buy some bitcoins. He asked me what ONLINE wallet (no ANDROID) is more safe......
what do you think?

I only know the safe place to save bitcoin is in blockchain.info but as usual, you need to save the private keys in the safe place and not tells to anyone. but I think he needs more than an online wallet to save his bitcoin and maybe hardware wallet is a good suggestion to him. the online wallet has a chance to be hacked by the hackers and this is why I suggesting hardware wallet especially if he owns more than 5-10 bitcoin. maybe paper wallet is good for him too and lets he decide which wallet he wants to use.

I think you did not loose your fund which you saved in the blockchain wallet. Actually your information is not correct. We will not gurrentee any online wallet are safety wallet. I have lost around 0.8 BTC from my wallet. This was happen last year and that too while surf about wallet URL in the google search.
If you have more fund in the blockchain wallet means please ignore that you are having huge funds that will not safe for you..

I don't see any connection if you have ledger nano S and your friend wants to buy some bitcoins. Basically you don't need hardware wallet to make bitcoin purchase unless you will do a risky P2P transactions.

Moving forward, choose the one that is recognized as legit exchange company. For global exchanges that touches most of the countries, your friend can consider Coinbase. Check the fees and deposits methods there if it will be convenient on your friend's side. If there is a local exchanger there that is a best option too as it will touches local payment system available in your country for faster transaction.

For your information none of the online wallets are safe. If you use online wallets then your coins are at risk and you don't have the control over your coins. If you don't have control over your own coins then what is the use of storing coins in online wallets. One fine morning when you get up from the bed and try to open the wallet, you will notice that it has gone offline with all your coins. You can take the example of nicehash. So tell your friend not to use online wallets.

I have used block.io wallet with no problems for the past 2-3 years it could be given a chance but when it comes to choosing a wallet based on ppularity i believe blockchain.info wallet is as good as they come.

He do made such introduction for more characters to make the post looks longer and appealing on the eyes which I would say its not really necessary at all since he just like to mention on his experience.
Blockchain is reliable though as long you do keep your phrases safe away from other peoples awareness.

Electrum is a safe one and as well as greenaddress but it's better if he can avail a nano ledger s. It's the safest of them all but for someone that is just starting out, tell him/her that he shouldn't deposit it or hold it through exchange. Blockchain.info is a good choice as others stated.
