As I have participated on hundreds of airdrops I did encounter some forms that do ask private keys which is really obvious that they are just trying out to scam that's why there are still people who got being hacked of their MEW because of their stupidity.Besides that I don't see any other important informations that being inputted into the form since mostly you would just need to put your username, links, social media, emails but regarding on these account I do usually use dummies not on my personal social accounts specially on facebook.

I really don't trust any airdrops actually, they will just get your information then will attract you in a small amount of token in exchange to get your Ethereum address and private key. So better be careful, read and read most of the time before getting in mate.

If your not careful of course your information will get stolen. I personally love joining airdrop coz its free. I would high suggest you put extra protection on your email account since most airdrops are requesting for email, fb, twitter account. And last lastly dont ever put your ether wallet private key on the signup form.

I've encountered such situation also. I checked my entry, and there were two. The other one was fake, using my bct username. So what I did was, sent a pm to the dev or to whoever was doing that airdrop and informed such cheating and gave my real eth address. But for other airdrops, I won't know as I'm just checking the spreadsheet to those where I applied for. You can't track all airdrops. So good for others who continuously cheat if the real owners are not aware of their misconduct.

Yes, lately most of the airdrops do exist that way by misusing information from participation. I also get a lot of junk messages in my email, should anyone try to hack my account through that email. but I've given full security

I have participated in a lot of airdrops and shared my info like social media profiles, name, email etcitra. Obviously there were no sensitive data needed to be shared by me but as airdrops ask for email ids, it might be harassing when hey use these emails to advertise their alternate projects without our permission. Some companies collect these crypto related email ids and then sell to third parties. Other than emails, i have never share my other private info

Ourgh I am beginning to hate most of these airdrops. Always "Did you join our Telegram? Did you follow our Twitter acccount, Did you like our Facebook group" etc. And so you join all these different social medias and in the end they change the airdrop rules. Or worse the airdrop tokens are for getting a discount on the price at their upcomming ICO. I really hate that one.
Also got some airdropped the other day to my ETH adresses out of the blue. Turns out they are ONLY for use in their ICO. It is essentially just spam:( So now I have the irritating tokens in my wallet with no use..

Once I joined an airdrop where I was asked to provide email, after that I received some spam emails about crypto related information/airdrop which I cant find it on bitcointalk. Now I prefer not to join any airdrop where I should provide my email. Actually I can avoid it by using secondary email, but I prefer to say NO.

I have the same suspecion too. I have never tried to own airdrop coin before. And in my opinion, many of that kind of coins are thrash.

i have noticed an uptick in the amount of spam i get from signing up for the airdrops. fortunately i use a spam gmail account for my airdrops, but still... a lot of spam from the tokens that i sign up for and from others who are taking the spreadsheets and adding it to their database.
i'd also imagine it would make social engineering a lot easier with folk's email addresses here... people can take your email and run it through a database of hacked passwords from other sites, then test your password out on the email account to see if you didn't change it. Then they can get your bitcointalk login, exchange logins without 2fa, voila. you've just lost all of your btc without ever giving anyone your private keys
