Hi, I couldn't find a more appropriate board for this than Off-topic. If there's a better place to direct this question, please let me know.

I'm looking for a way to get real-time plain text BTC/USD rates. http://blockchain.info/tobtc allows you to do convert USD (and many other currencies) to BTC using URL parameters, like https://blockchain.info/tobtc?currency=USD&value=100. Is there a similar way to retrieve plain text BTC -> USD rates?

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Just do the math. Get the exchange rate (dollars per BTC using the blockchain API). Multiply the amount of BTC by the exchange rate. Voila!
