Is this crash or small/huge correction?

There are standard definitions.

A correction is when the market or valuation of an asset falls 10% or more.

a crash is when the market or valuation of an asset falls 40% or more.

What we've experienced multiple times this year have been corrections, not crashes. The last Bitcoin crash I'm aware of was in 2014...but I'm not looking at all the data right now either.

No crashes, how? In the begginning of september, bitcoin price was $4500 and then it went down to $2600 within 15 days. I think you don't remember this, this was a crash.

The price of bitcoin fell more than $1,000 in the span of about 10 minutes on the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index (BPI) today, just hours after the cryptocurrency set an all-time high above $11,000.[1]

2017-11-26 price was 8,200$

2017-11-29 price was 11,000$

2017-11-30 price 9,800$

When we do try to compare both things which is "Crash" and "Correction" we would able to find out the difference because when we do mention crash price have significantly drop on huge % which would have been cause either large group of the community did able to sold mostly all of their holdings which have cause on such price down. "Correction" price decrease but only on considerable % which is mostly on 10-20% down on its price.

From whag had happened it was a healthy correction, though there has been news that coinbase had a glitch, causing the drop in the price, still we do not see any upcoming crash any time soon, and probably there will be none, since by the looks of it, bitcoin has been accepted by a lot of people as an asset, in which it only makes the price of bitcoin higher, still bitcoin is not just an asset but a currency as well. The drop may also be due tonthe coming holdiays, wherein people had alrady gained profits, and wanted to cash out in time for the holdiays, and wenahould consider fhat to be a correction as well, and see a a new rally by january.

You have to expect these things to happen with bitcoin price. The price can't just continue to go up forever. It's just a part of the entire cycle with bitcoin's price, boom and bust if you know what i mean. But long term i can say for sure that BTC is going to continue to go up.

After that correction i really think that $10k isn't going to be breached for a long time.

A real "crash" probably won't happen until next year, i'd say.

There isn't much of a difference between crash or correction. Just two words for the same thing. But it's certainly temporary as shown by the climbing bitcoin price right now, in fact we're looking at $11k+ right now.

Honestly, these corrections have to be expected. As any bull market goes, there will be times where bitcoin is climbing and other times when the price is taking a hit from panic dumpers.

Just ensure that you don't fall for the bear trap when it comes, just like it came this time with the dump below $10k.

Crash , a sudden rapid drop price. Correction , a slow drop price and usually takes several times hit the market.
That's the definition of crash and correction for me , i cannot judge the market yet for now.
Let's see in the next few days , but i believe this gonna be a crash. Be ready for it.

Hey that's good. I might have to quote you in my crypto and blockchain dictionary, Decryptionary.com

A crash is when 80% of the value is lost. By the time you know you're in the crash, it's too late.

I think it's a correction, if the bitcoin is more than 12k, it's totally is a bubble and it will crash in the next week.

As for me, it is just a correction. It is too minute to call it a crash because you even see it going mainstream within the bounds of $10,000. It did not go down further. Perhaps, it may just also be brought about by sudden increase of demand that the supply can hardly make good to it because there are too much investors who chose to hold their Bitcoins.

To my opinion there is no any crash on the way. Bitcoin price can't just rise forever, that is true,  but I expect only some smaller corrections maybe even by the end of the year. People actually don't know the true meanng of the word crash so they use it too often and in wrong context when it comes to bitcoin price and the only result of that is spreading panic. So, don't panic bitcoin will not crash but the price will be corrected.

Bitcoin prices will normally increase and decrease. this is a natural thing in the digital currency world, we've all seen tremendous events before. The price increase of hundreds of percent and the drastic price reduction became the hallmark of digital currency, especially Bitcoin.

Right term would be correction, if there will be a crash then bitcoin's price will be pulled down to the lowest as $1,000. But it didn't happened right? And these price drops are just considered as correction. Comparing huge correction to a crash isn't the same, I would prefer that huge corrections are just normal while crash aren't normal and it can threat the whole market and make weak handlers to sell.

Seeing the prices right now I say that Bitcoin just recovered from a correction, Right now Bitcoin is worth 11,332$ per BTC which means its on its way to a new high right now. Also if you are an old member of this forum these price movements must not be new to you as it is actually Bitcoin's habit on having a new high. Every time their is a price correction it will recover and will surely aim to break a new price point. But just to make sure you must always monitor both the news and it's price charts.

It is a correction. Also many people are panic selling because of FUD.Whales as usual are taking their profits.I personally think price is falling because of correction as bitcoin price rise too much in short period of time.Once the correction is over we will see a stable incease in bitcoin price Wink
Whatever it is dude it already has given people so much because those who sold yesterdays are now happy a lot and those who are expecting more tomorrow they are now saying that it is a correction but the true thing Is that was right price and those who sold at that were the smart person nothing can happen now wait more to see the price gradually increases and don’t repeat this next time and learn this lesson,

many @op say crash when price back 20% others say 30% and other say 40%   which value is real ?
crash is when bitcoin back with more than 30% and cant rise again or stable at the bottom.
bitcoin price is correction because it back again and rises fast when fall
invest in bitcoin and safe you time and money.

Definitely it was not a crash. The price dropped from 11000$ to 9800$ because the people who were holding their bitcoin's from quite a long time sold there BTC's in order to get maximum out of this rise which caused the price to drop.Within a day or two it was again rised to 11000$ and it is still above this mark.I don't think there will be any crash because the demand is actually increasing .A correction can be there which will bring down the price to a reasonable value.

What happened is just a healthy correction which didn't kill bitcoin, what will happen is that it'll just make bitcoin stronger than ever. There are so many investors now in bitcoin which will not allow their investments down the drain. Even if the bitcoin's price go down, there are so many who are waiting to buy the fucking dip and go "ALL IN!".

That should be a correction and not a crash, cause bitcoin is getting higher than an immediate crash dew to the heavy numbers of bitcoin investors in the system. That correction has given bitcoin a new set and it is finding it's way ahead.

I agree with you mate because whatever we said is what will build confidence in new investor and we bitcoiner need to becareful about spread panic comment. However, very successful business must accept debt in other to make some correction.
