In terms of btc it's become really hard to predict which coin would perform better i would say buy qtum now or somewhere around 0.0012 and sell for 0.0016-0.0018 btc when the price becomes back to normal. Another coin would be ltc has little bit of risk but might be able to sell it for 0.01 btc.
If you wanna trade in terms of usd go with omg it was on a uptrend and was going to break $10 mark of bittrex but fell it might regain after this.
Second coin would be neo buy at $31 and aim for a profit of $55 in short term or $70 in long term.

Edit : Eth roadmap 2.0 is also out there is a chance of breakout after btc recovers. Good hold if you trade with btc or usd.

I think KMD could return to 30000 satoshi, now it is 24000. Pay Tenx from 21000 satoshi to 24000 -25000. XVG from 55 satoshi to 65-70 I think. They are all cheap now.

There are so many coins out there, it's hard to work out what is best.

Sometimes I wonder if the right strategy is to look at all the coins listed on Poloniex, and set buy orders at their lows. and buy the lot. It seems to me that almost every single coin gets pumped at some point, so the key is buying at a good price and just waiting.

The best thing about you can try to participate in the ico rather than buy the coin right now. as you can see majority of the coin gets red blood due to the correction of the bitcoin itself.
The best thing about wait more until the price will be on the bottom. It will be happening in the next day I suppose.

I think ethereum would be a goof choice to hedge into in times like these. Power ledger without a doubt is one good coin but do not put all you portfolio in one coin, diversify it in at least three alts. For this reason, I also recommend you OP to invest onto much stabler coins in price now like waves. There are also other coins that are good to hedge into, just remember to look into altcoins that retained having a price for a long time now they might get pumped up soon.

I think we are already too late, correction happened. At least %20 loss from the top for all coins.

It is probably ethereum. It didn2t really lose too many value. It hit all time high very later than most of these altcoins. It is still getting used by many people. Ethereum is nicest coin to hold.

Buy the one which have fell by maximum % in last 24 hour but have huge daily trading volume, they are the one which are oversold during correction and chances of them gaining some quick 10-20% pump next day is really high. So I think they are the safest investment during blood bath.

I think Ethereum, Dash, Litecoin and Monero are always good investments especially now as you can buy them at lower prices.
I think Stratis is also a good choice for now. The price didn't fall while all other coins fell in price very much. This is a sign of its popularity. Stratis can rise very  much after Correction of Bitcoin ends.
