I just heard this recent podcast and thought it was relevant to this group.  LetsTalkBitcoin segment discussed the purpose of mining and if it's losing the original vision of Satoshi due to concentration of mining capacity by ASICs and large pools.

well, yea.... i guess we have to wait another 6-12months and see what happens when the ASIC price is more reasonable and ready to ship.

i was looking at buying a asic usb erupter but dont want it delivered. will we ever find these kind  of things in the pc shops on the highstreet. like the spare shops etc? what do people think. Huh
