Soon every store and restaurant will accept payment in bitcoins, perhaps you will see it next year in your city.

If McDonalds will indeed accept Bitcoin , I believe other fast food chains will want to do the same. Which will result in a great amount of exposure.

I don't think this is possible with bitcoin with it's huge transaction fees and very low transaction speed. You will have to pay 2,3 times more than your meal as transaction fee and you will have to wait 15- 30 mins at the register to transaction to go through  Grin Bitcoin is more like gold and it can not be used as a currency without solving these problems first

Does that even make sense with the current transaction times and fees? You are going to pay more for the fees than for your meal. Unless the fees go down drastically, it makes no sense to use bitcoin as a daily payment method.

True, the average fee for an average non-segwit transaction at this moment is 38,420 satoshi's (0.0003842 BTC), in fiat that's about $4.
However, there are ways to avoid these fees:
- use the lightning network (in the future): no need to wait for confirmations, very low fees
- use a segwit wallet: lower fees
- use a prepaid card: fund your card using $100 or more in BTC, the funds only become available once the transaction is confirmed, the card doesn't expire, so the user can just fund it once and use if for loads of meals... This would allow users to cheap out on the fees, as long as they funded their prepaid card a couple of days in advance.

I'm not saying that this is what mc donalds will be doing.. I'm just saying there are ways to lower the impact of the high transaction fees.

what are the examples of segwit wallet?  Thanks in advance for your Response Smiley

Wow. I love this news. Not that just because I want to use my bitcoin in Mcdo but of course I am a Mcdo Lover. This news was great because it is somehow right and less hassle for many people in terms of their less hassle transactions to Mcdo. And of course they do not need to cash out money and buy they just buy and pay it using bitcoin.

I have doubt to believe that bitcoin will somehow accept to fastfood chain like Mcdo. I can say is that because this type of transactions isn't tgat good or right way in paying food. Somehow bitcoin is goo in terms of earning but not in terms of paying. But I believe that somehow in the future this will be going to happen and things might change and bitcoin will accepted in every country.

You know you have to wonder if the hysteria and the inflation and hyped up price + volatility will hamper it's adoption potential.

I think this Bitcoin at 10 grand stuff has officially sealed Bitcoin's coffin.
Because if BTC is not being used as intended then it has failed.

A currency that is worth 1 grand then 10 grand later is way too volatile to be used by merchants.
That currency stability is tantamount.

Then what is left ?
Hype and pseudo stock market bullshit.
Bitcoin treated as nothing but a commodity.

AKA: a big ass mutha fuckin' pyramid scheme like the old water filter days.

Man you speak out of my heart! That is what I am feeling while watching Bitcoin spike for another $1000 almost every two days. This rise isnt organic and totally fails the intention with whom Bitcoin was brought to life. Bitcoin should be used as a means of payment and everyday transactions. But as it seems now, its just being treated as commodity and therefore we are currently facing exactly what we as currency community wanted to get out of: stock market speculation. Actually the flaws in our financial system are repeating itself in this very moment. On top, if Bitcoin keeps rising like this it gets even more likely that authorities step in and start prohibiting crypto currencies. I cant hide that I am scared by this development and I really did not see it coming.

Soon every store and restaurant will accept payment in bitcoins, perhaps you will see it next year in your city.
That is how we see the future of bitcoin in most cities. But in other countries they already use bitcoin as a mode of payment in some stores it is very likely that other countries will follow. If ever McDonalds accept bitcoin as payment it will really catch the attention of the other customers who doesn't have any idea.

Not only MacDonald but there are some multinational companies which have already join bitcoin and some companies are trying to accept bitcoin because bitcoin is now very useful and important for every one and they know very well how bitcoin can help them because bitcoin is a life changing currency and its playing a very big role in economy of many countries and same it can also help to some companies so bitcoin is now one of the favorite currency in world.

Thats very good news, because it will help even more to spread the word about Bitcoin and make it more popular. McDonalds is a big company having centers worldwide almost, and this will help to let its community know about Bitcoin and its high potential.

I was having the same doubts. There is the need for a different coin. Bitcoin it good to store value, but for day to day use, hmm, not really.

Well, it's a great news for us who love Mcdonalds. We all know that it is the all time most favorite route of snack lovers and it is really good to know that they will accept bitcoin as payment next year. I'm glad to know that I can use the bitcoin I have to buy fries and burgers that I love. The more bitcoin I have the more fries I'll have. Grin

Maybe now on the exchanges they'll start listing Bitcoin in terms of how many McDoubles it buys.

Then that's good but for now we should take care the price coz it's increasing day by day. And fees are getting expensive too. I hope Mcdonalds can innovate this thing.

Nah, it will make a lot of sense if McDonalds would create their own coin rather than accepting bitcoins. Bitcoin's price is very volatile so your burger could be either costly or cheaper as you stand in line. ha ha! Anyway, if this is true then kudos.
