When you are feeling down from the speculative losses recently, maybe these links will help to calm you down.

Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

No one in their right mind would be transfering more BTC to an address they know they lost the private key of... kudos to the owners of those addresses !

Wow, massive (and very recent) buying from the very first address you sent. That guy bought almost 100k coins since 23rd January 2013 to 28th June 2013.

I guess he will be buying another 100k as soon as we go below $50, whales love to dollar cost average.

Yes, I wouldn't be surprised when the despair cycle it over and the next major uptrend starts (2 - 3 years IMO) some big player announces that he holds >5 % of all Bitcoins to ever exist, just like the Winklevi did in this rally, but only bigger.

And all the short profit speculators realize that they sold their coins to cheap (again).

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

The bolded address belongs to our friend Loaded. Nice to see he's still holding. Haven't seen him around for a while

Bumping this because... a couple of these addresses have shed a lot of coins.

However, https://blockchain.info/address/1AXmu2pGHuS67v1BrmRo1MAapFbbJo9QUw has grown.

Care to take a gander at Loaded's wallet now?

Can anybody confirm or deny that https://blockchain.info/address/1QAHVyRzkmD4j1pU5W89htZ3c6D6E7iWDs is Mt Got's cold storage wallet? That's the source of the $1M USD down payment for the Multi (as in more than two) Million Dollar purchase for the future delivering of Monarchs from BFL to HashTrade, backed by the Jacobson Brothers who, according to SEC documents, seemed to have a pulled CoinLab at least once in the past.

Another informative post brought to you by TMIBITW.

I am sure that some could just be moving coin around or putting it into different wallets?

It is interesting for sure though.

I'm working under the assumption that the $1M stems from a Mt Gox wallet 1QAHVyRzkmD4j1pU5W89htZ3c6D6E7iWDs as shown in this tx https://blockchain.info/tx/1b6ea350c094071412df1f801651263fd65ffa0b89ad6c8626ceeca8755f50bc

Then from here https://blockchain.info/address/16fus1FKurpDmPtEZLGbg7vRYtH2TEFbYf was transferred to a BitPay wallet currently residing here https://blockchain.info/address/1EXDF4fvjRozJ96TjF4SPN7rbTx2ik6Dsd

Mt Gox is the prime candidate for it's source, with CoinBase being the next available option. I don't believe that BitPay would put their brand in jeopardy by having funds transferred internally for the purpose of furthering their brand, not to mention BFL's and HashTrade's brand.

Well, technically we don't know if they did.
The top 500 addresses are actually increasing/accumulating during the past 6 months...their aggregate balances have increased slightly.

So, early adopters are NOT dumping...maybe they just moved balances around to obfuscate everyone watching them.

Have you guys noticed all the spam some of those addresses received i.e. messages begging for some coins?

Just scroll down in their histories and you will see them.

I just noticed, and I lol'd. Asking "loans" from a stranger to another stranger. Eventhough you have that much of BTC, I'm sure you know other, better ways to spend "some" BTC on than just handing out BTC to random strangers.

I also recently heard of spam send to "normal" users, also with promotional goals. I'm glad my wallet hasn't received these yet, although my public wallet doesn't have that much BTC on it Wink.

- -

More on topic, actually some of these addresses have moved balances since the start of this topic. Some of them might have sold a part of their BTC, but I also do think that most of them probably moved some balances.

{Curently quite inactive as I'm really busy in my private life. I will get back soon!}
