I am mining with the latest cgminer.

I finally got the config ok-ish and was happily mining for 48hrs, without crashes. The I found out that my hash rate was 150 under what should be possible with a 7950.

So I copied my config file and started tweaking, but I couldn't get it stable. So I gave up and reverted to my saved config, only to see that this one is crashing as well. Main problem is the GPU temperature.

It was steadily around 82 degrees C in the stable configuration with fans at approx. 50%. Now the same config rises temp above 92 degrees, although ambient is cooler than yesterday.

What is happening here? Why is the config that ran yesterday and was stable not running any longer? I even re-installed cgminer because I thought maybe settings were saved underwater, but to no avail.

Nobody's going to be able to help you without more information.

What OS are you on? Is that the only GPU on the system? You should post your config file too.

Just delete *.bin files in your cgminer directory and then replace the one you were tweaking with a backup copy. Some even have the command     del *.bin    as the first command since the bin files record settings; that's their job (for this conversation, anyways). Your's are goofed because it isn't just the config file that you played with, as soon as you started CGMiner with your messed up settings, the bin files saved that messed up data. Delete them, replace your .conf file with a new shiny one and fire it up! You'll be fine.

You *do* know that there is an Official CGminer thread in the software section right?

Of course only problem with that is: This is the BITCOIN area and ^^ is -ck's thread. Ya know, the author of cgminer? As such he is going to tell you: The official cgminer is for mining only BITCOINS. It has been forked numerous times to mine altcoins and since you are mining alts - contact the author/maintainer of the fork.

Post in the altcoin software area for help.
