JUL 3, 2013

Closure of WalletBit

Despite sales efforts, it is now unfortunately discovered, due to a number of factors, that it is not possible to transfer all or parts of WalletBit to a new operator. As a result of that combined with new commitments, it is not possible for us to continue offering services via WalletBit.

Private Customers / Business Customers

Please transfer any balances you have on your accounts to an alternative provider as soon as possible and no later than the 15th of July.
On the 15th of July - WalletBit website will be taken offline and you will not be able to access your account after this time.

The team has worked on high pressure to identify alternative solutions, and it is with very great regret that today we are compelled to come forward with this information.

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers, whom we are grateful to have shared an amazing 2 years!

Thank you

Are you serious? Less than 2 weeks of notice?

Your users better hope that doesn't happen to BIPS Smiley

Remember that it also depends on how many are using the product, in WalletBit's case very few, close to none as most have already made the move when BIPS launched.

Thank you. We have experience securing tens of thousands of BTC with CoinLenders which never had a successful hacking attempt, we've discussed with Bitcoin core devs and we've spent thousands on security testing.

Best of luck!

WTF?  I think of BTC as a long-term investment, so I don't check my account very often.  I go to log in today and find the site down.  Now you tell me that because I missed a two week window, my BTC is gone?  Why didn't you send an email notification?

This is completely unacceptable.  Please contact me to restore my balance to another wallet.

Apologies Kris; I assumed that the company had gone out of business completely.  I emailed them and they transferred my balance to a new wallet very quickly.  All is well here Smiley

Is someone collecting these amazing comedy lines spread all over this forum ? This is pure gold.
